Warhawk Combo pack on its way

Like a KFC variety meal with explosions.

Sony has just dropped us an email announcing a Warhawk Combo pack, due to arrive on PSN in the not-too-distant future.

The pack, which will consist of both the Omega Dawn and Operation Broken Mirror expansions, will be priced at a very modest GBP 4.99, a healthy reduction from the GBP 3.99 charged for each individually on release.

Operation Broken Mirror introduced snowy landscapes and the shield-generating APC vehicle, and is generally regarded as a valuable addition, helping earn a very respectable 8/10.

Conversely, Omega Dawn, the first expansion on the scene, was something of a disappointment. Its dropship, -in complete agreement with Tom's feelings on dropships in general - was a bit rubbish and the sole new level which it included considered a floppy let-down.

You can't argue with the price, however, because prices are technically abstract concepts without the capacity for logical thought, let alone the ability to construct meaningful arguments.

The exact date is still in stealth mode, presumably hovering around behind us somewhere, charging up some kind of super-weapon to gank us with when it's good and ready.

    it was the FUNNEST thing I played last year I'd say... hm, second to God Of War actually (I was catching up on that)

    I had to actually force myself to stop playing because I had a stack of games awaiting completion with Warhawk nailing all my time.
    GTA4 online isn't a patch on it either, nowhere near as fun. Servers are always nicely full around the 32 player mark, action is slick, fun, frantic yet tactical.

    I would say its the most fun onliner I've played, although Day Of Defeat has been stealing me back recently.

    Most addictive multiplayer gameplay I've seen yet this gen.
    Always getting add-ons and updates.
    Puts all the other studios to shame.

    Why? Because Dylan Jobe actually asks fans what they want, and then delivers it at a decent price. If this was the only PS3 game out there it would be enough reason to buy a PS3.

    Sony should look at this as a model for future titles.

    I tell youi what, if Warhawk had a Star Wars skin applied to it, would just about be the best thing in the world ever.

    @Widge - and if it had a Mario skin on it, I'd want it less.

    And what? It should be more appealing in terms of concept and story. It should have been marketed properly.

    Apparently the Sex and The City movie is pretty good - I'm not paying to see the fucker regardless!

    It's gaming crack. For beginners it is probably pretty daunting but once you get the hang of it it is sublime.

    There is no story, not beyond the red team are killing the blue team. Pure and simple.
    Yes that is a bit generic, you have no idea why the Eucadians hate the Chevrolets ... probably due to one sides ever so slightly Borg-ish appearence against the "we're just solid 50's inspired marines" GOOD GUYS so we must naturally fight each other in a multi-vehicle and explosion scenario on random planets that have no significance apart from their amazingly symmetrical design and lack of any other real world participants.

    But all you do is jump in, fly/run/drive about and have lots of death based fun. If you like watching 4 women who wander about, wearing THE CLOTHES while bitching about their awful hand that life has dealt them without actually realising the keystone of their issues is the fact that they are on the whole deeply unlikable moany wenches so its no wonder the men in their life inevitably get fed up with them and have drama, then Sex & The City delivers all you need. If you want shooty kill fun, Warhawk works lovely. No weapons are crap, no maps are crap, no game breaks, nothing bringing it to its knees.
