Warhawk booster before Xmas

Sony reassures Euro fans.

Sony has reassured us that Warhawk booster pack Operation: Omega Dawn will be out worldwide before Christmas.

It backs up comments made by game director Dylan Jobe on the US PlayStation blog, where he revealed the new content was undergoing testing before it could be given its solid December date.

He also spilled the beans on the USD 7.99 price tag, although its European equivalent is yet to be determined.

Operation: Omega Dawn adds a night-time Omega Factory battlefield with six layouts, plus a snazzy dropship to fly troops and a vehicle around in.

Pop over to the PlayStation blog for a few snaps of the new scenario.

On the European playstation forums it said it's going for 5.99, £3.99.

Does no-one look at the Euro PS website?

I'd say that £4 is reasonable for what amounts to one new map and one new vehicle.

Given that there's 5 maps that went for £20 on the PSN store they're keeping the current rate... at least as far as I'm concerned.

And they're adding stuff to the current maps which is nice. :)

If Sony want to encourage people to take up DLC, they should reduce it to £1.99 during december....

THIS...is what will make me leave COD4..

The Dropship and the night-time stage really spice this up for me. Apparently taking on a fully staffed Dropship is like a boss battle from an SP game, and taking one down will take a concerted team effort. It sounds a riot.

Any word on the 1.2 patch that was mentioned some time ago?

Speaking of patches, Sony should distribute a compilation disc with all the patches for various games, along with new releases for those of us without broadband. My brother's wireless while not transmit reliably from 1 room to the next due to the amount of Wireless networks in his area. So he can't get FW updates or the Motorstorm patch.

In other new, Formula 1 was patched to add rumble for DualShock3 owners.
