Warhawk area for Home this week News

PlayStation 3 MMO News by Oli Welsh

25 February, 2009

At yesterday's Destination PlayStation event, Sony confirmed that the long-promised Warhawk Command Centre will be released for PlayStation Home this week, according to Joystiq.

The Command Centre will allow up to eight players to use a table replication of the level to talk battle tactics, placing markers on the map to plan their attacks.

The update, first revealed in February last year, is the first game-specific area to be added to Home. Major forthcoming additions include a Resident Evil 5 area and an EA Sports complex.

Might have to check this out, home is slowly starting to get interesting. Hope Sony can pick up the pace a bit.

Warhawk is a great, great game. A real gem. It never seems to get old for me.

I like this area. Be good for people like me who can actually host large scale battles for 20/24 people....

Love it too, should play it more often. If only I had the time...

This is the sort of thing that Home needs more of. Plus now we can do the running man and plan battle tactics at the same time. :-)

Are you guys on crack? First game specific area in Europe is the Far Cry 2 space. And in the US there is also the Uncharted space.

Will you have to queue to use the table?

No seriously!

I deleted Home but I might download it again because I absolutely love Warhawk. This sounds interesting.

To be fair those other areas had very little to do with said games other than the "decor" and even then it was tenuous.

Features like these spaces should of been in the open beta release on day 1.

This is the main point of Home - to get together with other people, talk about the games and launch them. Otherwise, Home feels pointless to many gamers.

Cant wait to see what this looks like.

So what's the Far Cry 2 space that was released in Europe a few weeks ago then? ;)

Definitely not pointless. But hopefully sometime soon they'll be able to release Home content along with the actual release of games and not long after. ;) People will be playing Killzone 2 for the next few weeks, not Warhawk!

Hmmm... sixty minutes of nerds arguing, for a 20 minute belt of chaos. Nifty tech, but having not the slightest plan is half the fun of Warhawk.

Does Home now allow you to launch multiplayer games directly with people met on the service?
