Warhammer Online is Korea-bound
EA, Mythic and NHN got Seoul.
Hangame, part of South Korean internet giant NHN, has announced that it has signed a deal to bring Mythic's MMO Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning to Korea in 2009.
Warhammer Online launched in the US, Europe, and the Oceanic region back in September, published by EA (and GOA in Europe). Oceanic means Australia and New Zealand as well as Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.
That only left the world's two biggest MMO markets - Korea and mainland China - untouched by the hand of WAR. Looks like one of these can now be ticked off.
The game's intense focus on player-versus-player combat ought to go down well with Korean gamers, who have an unquenchable thirst for beating each other up in virtual worlds. However, only one Western MMO has previously found success in the Far East - no prizes for guessing which.
WAR will have some competition. Earlier this week, Funcom announced that Age of Conan is headed to Korea as well.
You'll find a review, guides, news, media and more at the Warhammer Online gamepage.
