Wallace & Gromit date and demo

First episode out next week.

Telltale Games has released a demo version of Wallace & Gromit: Fright of the Bumblebees, the first instalment in its four-episode series, which launches on 24th March for PC.

To grab the demo, head over to the official website, where you can also check out a new trailer and consider a special pre-order deal, where you get 25 per cent off the usual price of the series (USD 26 instead of USD 34.95) and a free episode of Sam & Max and Strong Bad.

The first episode of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures sees the quirky duo in a race to produce enough honey to satisfy a local shopkeeper's crumpet festival requirements.

The other episodes - The Last Resort, Muzzled! and The Bogey Man - will follow in May, June and July respectively. The series is also coming to Xbox Live Arcade, although exact dates have yet to be confirmed.

Look out for our review of Fright of the Bumblebees early doors on 24th March. In the meantime, check out our Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures preview, where design director Dave Grossman explains how the series came to be and what's in store.

NOT impressed by all this. First Wallace in those adverts for gas heating, now this. FAMILIARITY will breed CONTEMPT, mark my words!

Surely this needs to be primarily a Wii title??

that deal does sound good for preorders. I thouroghly enjoyed the sam and max series one, but not played strong bad or season 2 yet. I want to preorder, yet i would prefer playing on my 360. if the 360 one is goign to be something stupid like 1,200 points per episode, then i'd ultimatl;y be spending ?35 for 4,100 points and then a further ?17.50 to make up for the remaining 700 points.

The demo is good, bit wierd having to use the arrow keys to move wallace when your using a laptop. The major problem i have, is that the dialogue is perhaps droned out by the triumphant music that plays through the demo (which feels very repetitive). there is no option to specificly turn down the music which is kind of irritating.

I had to lower the graphical settings from 9, to 2!! but, it still looks acceptable, it is a point and click game after all. My pc can run Team fortress 2 and left 4 dead fine. yet wallace and gromit is just too demanding as when i loaded it up first, Wallace was just a pair of floating eyes.

The demo seemed like trash. Ran extremely slow and was a boring point and click. You can't click anything without seeing 2 minutes of dull cut scene chatter that doesn't help you and can't be skipped.

And the voice of Wallace just sounds wrong. And all Gromit ever does is raise his eyebrows and shake his head.

Just checked and its up for pre-purchase on Steam, 22.49 for what looks like all 4 episodes and the free S&M and Strongbad.

Wallace sounds wrong because it's not Peter Sallis doing the voice. PC gamer claimed Aardman didn't want this to be a cash in. Unlike the last two W&G games, then, or the Chicken Run game.
