Vivendi buys Assault Heroes dev
Five for XBLA still on track.
Vivendi has plunged a virtual hand deep into its publishing pockets this afternoon to buy Wanako Games, the developer behind the Xbox Live Arcade hit Assault Heroes.
"The combination of Wanako's development experience, creativity and technical capabilities will contribute greatly to our presence as a leading publisher of console downloadable online games,"said Ed Zobrist, president of Sierra Online.
The next downloadable offering from Wanako will be 3-D Ultra Minigolf Adventure, an arcade style tee-'em-off. It will apparently feature over 30 holes, a course editor and multiplayer enjoyment for up to four human beings.
It joins a host of games available from Vivendi in 2007, which we hadn't forgotten about, promise.
"We're working on 5 games for this year," a spokesperson reminded us this afternoon.
Those will be Red Baron, a flying simulation set in WWI; Megaforce, a universally-panned filmthat was later ported to the Atari 2600; Battlestar Galactica, a space-combat game based on the television series; Incredible Machine, a puzzling puzzler; and Wanako's 3-D Ultra Minigolf.
Meanwhile you can catch-up with our Assault Heroes review from late last year by stepping through the magic writing.
It really is a pity we couldn't work out how to include, "Daylight come, and me Wanako home". One day, one day.

Actually it must be as The incredible machine was also a Dynamix title.

I think so, Sierra bought Dynamix in the early 90s, and Vivendi later bought Sierra so I assume that included all the Dynamix games too.
