Valkyria Chronicles DLC next Thursday News

SEGA will offer the three DLC packs for Valkyria Chronicles next Thursday, 16th April.

They'll cost GBP 3.19 / EUR 3.99 each, and we're double-checking whether all three will be offered at once; it's slightly unclear.

Making up one part of the DLC is the Hard EX Mode, in which players fight through the entire Imperial Army against tougher enemies, without the main tank Edelweiss.

There's also Edy's Mission, in which players become the titular heroine and defend a small village from overwhelming odds. Finally, Selvaria's Mission casts players as a young engineer called Johann and offers a taste of action from behind enemy lines.

Valkyria Chronicles - a pretty turn-based strategy RPG set in 1930s-inspired war-torn Europe - was released exclusively for PS3 last autumn. We rather liked it, too, and urged any fans of the genre to "pick it up without delay".

Prolly my GOTY (Even if SFIV is the best game I've played in years). I've thoroughly enjoyed it. Just got the last 2 missions to to I think. Any word or trophy support in the DLC?

I doubt it'd be worth the effort for them to port it. A game like this wouldn't sell very well on the 360 even if it was an exclusive.

There may be licensing issues also since the game shares characters with the anime which Sony has rights on.

I can't see the harm of porting it to the 360. Certainly wouldn't hurt sales, which were less than stellar on the PS3. Increased sales would lead to increased possibility of a sequel. I'll be picking up at least two of these downloads come next week.

One of the best games of all time and a disgrace that it's been majorly overlooked.

Will be grabbing this dlc day one but wish they'd patch in trophy support also.

Not the first classic to not sell well though and won't be the last I expect.

This is indeed a cracking game and should be bought by anyone who likes turn-based tactics.

Just completed the game and enjoyed it. But erratic A.I. and no mutliplayer was dissapointing

For £12 this would have to be a hell of a lot of DLC!

wonderful, wonderful game, I think I might get the DLC missions, if the maps are new... does seem abit expensive though... E4 for one mission?

I am not good enough to play on EX, but I can see myself buying at least one of the other packs and maybe the other when I am next between major releases.

The main game was awesome.

"The big news is that Nonaka, in light of the recent popularity, told the magazine that he really wanted to do a sequel to the game, and he was adamant about not leaving the game at just one title. While it's far from a confirmation, that does bode well for the possibility of a sequel."

Awesome gameplay and the first story in a game for a long time to actually touch me.
I'm at the second to last mission now, and will definately complete the game before thursday to be ready to get that DLC.

Game of the year? I don't know. Maybe. I really enjoyed Fallout 3 too. Metal Gear Solid 4 was also great. Lets leave it as one of 2008's best :-)
