Tawdry as I find the Running with Scissors publicity machine, Postal 2 was an interesting, innovative game concept that was let down only by the appalling area load times and weak implementation of their guns.
Since they're bringing it out on the consoles, too, this time round, they might have been forced to increase their production values in those areas. I await Postal 3 with trepidation, but interest. |

I don't agree with the 'try make a film before you diss one' ethos. I don't want his head but his films are terrible. Also, has Far Cry came out at all yet? I remember seeing a trailer ages ago.

as rubbish as his films are, Boll is very clever at financing and producing movies which seems to be what he loves doing so fair play to him.
that and he deliberatly acts an idiot to get press inches to market his films and In the Name of the King was actually much more enjoyable than the Lord of the Rings rubbish. |

justifying someones actions with either a "See if you can do better" or wanting to fight people who disagree with them is the most childish thing i have ever seen. Uwe boll is an awful director and has massacred a few franchises. that being said, people watch them because they are pretty awful. rental sales of Uwe Boll's films must be good because myself and friends have rented his movies in because we either liked the video game or fancied a laugh. If i get the right to abuse a virtual Uwe Boll, i think i'll give it a rent!

@ Midnight Raven - I am actually serious, but it's mainly due to thinking the Lord of the Rings films are dire than thinking In the Name of the King is good. Although I like the old-fashioned Krull-esque no frills hokum of ITNOTK and the slightly insane casting.

Have you ever spent ages creating something, putting a lot of blood and sweat into it - spending a huge portion of your life making that thing. And then you finish it - only for clueless nerds on the internet with fuck all appreciation of how much went on in making that thing slag it off because they think they're somehow better than you? If you had - you'd understand why he wanted to fight them. |

Agree entirely, I love Uwe Boll and his films. You don't have to think they're the most profound things in the world, but they are consistently fun imo, whereas there are a lot of big-budget hollywood films that are almost physically painful to sit through (I'm looking at you Eragon). |

In The Name of the King was bearable. Not particularly good, but I have seen far worse. I think that a lot of people who rag on Uwe Boll haven't actually seen most of his movies. He's just someone who is easy to make jokes about, and a bigger target because he makes mostly videogame adaptations.
Yes, there are some absolute shockers in there, but not all of his movies deserve to be called travesties. And I don't think he deserves quite as much hate as he gets. He hasn't ruined any valuable gaming properties as far as I can see, and besides, there are far worse crimes than making a few shitty movies. |

I watched Postal a couple of weeks ago. Certainly wasn't anything special, but it really wasn't bad at all and was quite funny in places. Not awful, by any means, although I have no idea what the games are really about so I was watching it with an open mind.
And for anyone who has seen it: "What is the difference between a duck?" |
