    Carry on Mehing it, I'll be over here playing the game on my PC and enjoying it as the most fun multiplayer shooter in recent years ;)

    I'm glad I got it for PS3, it's a good game. And thankfully XBOT cocktards aren't there to ruin any matches. I've stopped playing Live because of all the 14 year olds with mummy credit cards. Apart from the odd Forza game, most are utter idiots.

    You could always just turn 'mute all' on on the dashboard.

    I couldn't stand ut2003/4, too much focus on bloody trickjumping and shit map design and not enough focus on making it play well. All the weapons felt piss weak too.

    Great fun on PC... although I find one of the game types (the one with all that "attack the prime node" stuff utterly baffling.
    As brilliant as it is... the original UT is still more fun IMO, especially with Assault etc.

    @septimus In fairness though, the PS3 version doesn't run very well - lots of lag, glitchy visuals etc. I find the PC version much better. As for cocktards on Live... well I can't disagree with that, but I think you'll find the same idiots on PSN in time, once more people have headsets and games that support voice chat. Ultimately I'd rather have voice chat than not - I can choose to mute the idiots, and I can choose to talk with friends while playing.

    Oh come on. There's just as many jerks online on the PS3 and PC as their are on the 360. The only differences is that with the 360 everyone can easily play and communicate. Trying to pretend that you only get ass holes on the Xbox is the single most ridiculous thing I've ever read. Never played an MMO, never posted on a message board before? Get real.

    Like was said, if they annoy you on the 360, it's very easy to disable voice chat, or simply mute that single person. Personally, I'm thankful of the ease of communication on the Xbox, it beats trying to use a keyboard any day.

Not on my PS3 there isn't... it runs far better than I thought it would and is comparable with the demo I have on my own PC. With the exception of the odd bit of tearing and texture pop-in after the map has loaded, there are no glitches either. Also the dozen or so matches I've played have been lag free. I was actually surprised at how good it was in all honesty.

    @Wonga - Unreal Tournament was only ever a timed exclusive, it was never exclusive only to the PS3... ;)

    I'm sorry i have to agree, there are far more idiots on live, just except it. More racist expressions, more swearing and more squeaky kids. Just the way it is.

    I picked this up 2 days after release, unfortunately I live in Germany and the game has blood cut from it. Good plus for PS3 is that it allows for mods so that is rectified, plus many new maps being cooked over from the PC's editer version. Anyway the only time I had lag was joining a server with an insanely high ping. i.e. 2500+ Over all I really like the game...the biggest bone IMO is the weak, rush it out the door, story mode. As for the comment of weapons being weak there are mutators to fix that amoung other things. Oh by the way the PS3 version supports keyboard and mouse!

    I just don't see the attraction of this game.

    I mean, i have the PS3 version and i'm more than happy with that.

    It's not reeeeally down to some 360 v PS3 thing, i can deal with games being released on both systems where one game might have a few features that the other doesn't...but i mean, the potential for the PS3 version to be inifinitely bigger than anything the 360 can offer just makes a 360 version pretty redundant, unless Microsoft can at least bring in keyboard and mouse just in time for this.

    I am afraid Epic have missed the window of opportunity with this one. Besides the fact that COD4 and Halo 3 rule the FPS world on Live with an iron fist, are 360 gamers really gonna shell out for this when Gears 2 is only a few month behind?

    I agree somewhat - H3 and COD4 are big online FPS'es but UT3 is a very different game - much faster and arcade'ish - so if people are willing to give it a chance, I'm sure many 360 owners will be happy with it. I have a lot of fun with it on PS3 - not the "best online FPS evaaar" but still very entertaining :)

    Dude, have you ever PLAYED the PS3 version?? No lag, No Glitches.
    I got mine on US import last year, being an ex-UT freak back in the PC days.

    But frankly, it's not that good a game. Singleplayer is dull, all levels with vehicles are... well... not nearly as good as Battlefield: Modern Combat or Frontlines.
    The Deathmatch is cool, although it's health system (healthbar doesn't regenerate) is more balanced towards hardcore player. The occasional player won't get more than two kills before getting fragged himself.

    I dunno what I gave that game on Eurogamers, but I think it was a 6 or a 7.

    Epic is a better engine programmer than it is a videogame dev imho.

    EDIT: won't Battlefield: BC be out by then? That looks way better, on both Singleplayer and Multipplayer

    Well... bought mine on US import in late december and had lot of lag issues... but by using european servers with low ping value solved most of it, but often good servers were not available.
    Now after the game is out in the EU and the game has been patched to be US-EU compatible, I have only experienced lag af few times since it very easy to find european servers with low ping. UT3 is not virtually-lag-free as R:FoM but very good now.. for me anyway ;)

    I also recommend to use Midway's dedicated servers if possible... they usually run better than peoples own servers.

    Doesn't Live allow you to exclude Americans from your multiplayer sessions? With Warhawk I made the error of joining a US game once and was immediately treated to 'motherfuckers' and 'bitches'... :( Fortunately, Europeans appear to be a bit more mature, haven't had any problems playing with people from the old continent.

    EG adds Live games automatically. People usually do not wanne add games for other platforms because it is a hassle. Integration FTW I guess ;)

    Mods aren't that hard to find, many are linked to the games home page. I found 1 that supposedly turns the map to lego's, haven't run it yet but hear it can make the battle field quite messy. LOL

    Personnally, I look at this game and think Pot noodles. It may be an excellent game, but the art style, design and aesthetic is trash. Not all good games are worth buying I guess...

    I was soooooo looking forward to this, but after picking up and putting down my imported PS3 version five or six times, I could only admit that Unreal is no longer on the edge of FPS gaming. The health system sucks (too much looking for health after an encounter), the vehicles are boring and the absence of tactical depth lead to me putting this on my "biggest dissapiontments" list.

    Oh yes, not that it matters, but the singleplayer sux too.

    With stuff like Bad Company, COD4, Halo 3 and Team Fortress on the market, UT3 has no chance of survival.

    Epic, please bring UT to this day and age by evolving the gameplay, otherwise you lost me as a customer.

    That and the fact that it's UT2004 but with fewer modes. I like the hoverboard though.

    p.s. PC+PS3 versions combined sold over a million, which isn't too bad for UT.

    Semi-boring art direction?

    It just all looks so brown and muddy and dull. Back in my pc gaming days I loved the first couple of UT's but look of this one really puts me off. I'm sure it plays great but it looks like Gears Of War with extra dull sauce.
