Unofficial 8-bit Left 4 Dead available
Indie PC freebie offers original campaigns.
Indie game developer Eric Ruth has released an 8-bit inspired take on Valve's Left 4 Dead, and it's available to download for PC on his website.
Ruth's remake, called Pixel Force: Left 4 Dead, offers top-down takes on the original four campaigns with reworked graphics, music and controls, and has a two-player mode and everything.
It's worth checking out on YouTube for the cutesy takes on Bill, Zoey, Francis and Louis if nothing else.
Ruth describes himself as an aspiring developer who makes free games while he is seeking employment at a respectable studio.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see Valve's approach to this. It's so clearly a non-profit fan project, but even they surely can't be seen to endorse someone 'borrowing' their IP?
If you did the same thing with Call of Duty, I would imagine Kotick would come round to extract a pound of your flesh personally. Valve tend to be more liberal, but how much more?
