UNO Rush out on XBLA this week

Fast-paced variation with Avatars.

Microsoft has announced that UNO Rush will be released on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow, 25th March, for 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60).

It may look much the same as UNO, which is already out on XBLA, but Rush is a faster variation where you shuffle your cards between goes, and then when your turn comes around the game automatically plays every card off the top of your pile that makes a playable chain.

During this time, others can observe your hand and plan their moves accordingly.

On top of that, UNO Rush has full Avatar support, works with the Scene It? "big button controller", and allows for four players locally and up to three guests when playing over Live - i.e. four people on one console over the internet.

All of which sets it a bit apart from UNO, or at least more than anticipated. As usual, you will be given a demo version to help make your mind up, and 200 gamerpoints' worth of juicy Achievements to try and tempt you into a purchase.

I tried the demo of Uno Rush, thought it was awful, and went back to Uno. It's not a bad game, but I play Uno to chill with a nice slow card game, not to be hastled into playing immediately. If I want twitch gaming, I'll play a shooter.

Who needs this? With the original Uno (which you already have) and a camera, you can play "who can find and put on the most varied selection of hats that were lying around the house"

I'd win that, I have a kick ass hat collection.

Note that motorcycle helmets and the missus' panties are trumps.

The original UNO was IIRC 400 pts... To be charging 800 for a revamped version (that by the sounds of things involves less user interaction than the first) is just plain fucking greedy.

It sounds more like an update to the normal game to me...

800 points is where this loses me. Doesn't sound like it's that much different from the first game, barring a few rule changes, so why should it be twice the price?

Yeah i agree, this was a certain purchase for me after having alot more then expected fun with Uno, but 800 points? The orginal was 400 and then free, and this is really just a extra game mode, i just can't justify the extra cost for this.
