Uncharted Trophies are same as medals News

Naughty Dog has explained that Trophies in Uncharted will be awarded for exactly the same things as medals already are.

These have been in the acclaimed action adventure game since launch. There are around 47 of them and they are dished out for getting lots of headshots or staying alive for a long time or using one weapon to kill hordes of baddies, for example.

The only new addition will be a Platinum Trophy given for collecting all the others, according to according to Naughty Dog speaker Arne Meyer on IGN.

To earn Trophies in Uncharted you need to start a brand new saved game. Meyer said retroactively rewarding you "would have been nice", but Uncharted allows save-files to be moved around and Naughty Dog thought some people might cheat the system.

There is still no specific date for the Trophy patch, although we're told this will arrive very soon. There is nothing else in the update.

Very soon is not soon enough! I've been fancying playing through this again for a month but I've been holding out for the trophies. It's a shame more companies aren't adding these to their old titles because it does provide a nice incentive for returning to games.

Im also looking forward to this just so i can pay through uncharted again, as it seems a waste to play through again without the trophies.

Just got the Gold 10x Multiplier trophy on Stardust this morning \^_^/

I would expect the patch to be out pretty soon. The fact that they already have the medals in place should mean it is a quick job to hook it all up.

Its great to see them bothering to do this retrospectively. Pity Resistance:FOM won't get the same same treatment.

I only played it through once at launch (well, U.S launch) so this is the perfect excuse for playing this great game once more!

It shows how loved and revered this game is that us gamers are willing and looking forward to playing this again just to get the trophies.

I'm most certainly in that camp.

Erm, yes there is a date for the patch... Was announced on podcast and confirmed by Naughty Dog apparently...

Time to play through on the hardest setting then. Great game first time around, even though the enemies are made of Kevlar instead of skin and bone.

I haven't even started playing this yet! Only got a PS3 about a month ago now, and have had other games to play too - on the 360 as well as the PS3 - so I've been holding out for this damn trophy update too... argh.

I'm quite happy that PS3 has now got trophies as it adds a new dimension (allbeit a fairly small one) to gameplay. However there's no way I'll be earning the trophies on Uncharted for quite some time. I got the game at xmas and have played through on every difficulty, earning every single medal. It's pretty much taken 6 months and I'm actually kicking myself for not waiting. I want those trophies but just can't be bothered starting a new game (fantastic as Uncharted is).
