A statement like that which, you know, is going to be so very contentious should at least be backed up by some rationale.

If it comes purely down to your perception of how some element of the game could only truly be delivered by being on Blu-Ray then I'd happily concede you may have a point. As the difference between DVD-9 and Blu-Ray is evident and empirical.

However if it was down to interactivity, AI or graphical prowess how could you possible come to a definite enough conclusion that you felt confident in making such a statement. Is there really enough evidence that would suggest the X360 is incapable of producing the same results.

I think he was using his experience of Xbox graphics "at their very best" (GOW springs to mind) compared to this game and drawing the conclusion that this game manages to open a gap in quality that questions whether these two systems are as equal as first thought.

Wasn't expectng much from this game but played the demo and enjoyed it now cant wait after reading the review. Im considering ordering this on play asia as its out considerably earlier in US. Can anyone me how long i will have to wait for delivery and how much extra I will pay for postage?

@Moonprince - the demo is on the US store. You need to create a US-based account to access the US store. It should be appearing on the EU store in a couple of weeks - not sure of the date.

The demo sucked, apart from the wonderful graphics.
No exploration, and the combat was dire.
Using the sixaxis motion to balance on a log made me laugh too.
This and Arse Creed are big disappointments.

The funny thing is, I haven't tried to undermine anyone, I've actually admitted that I trust krudster's reviews, hence if he says this game is good, I trust his opinion. All I've said is that the PS3 (that has been out for over a year now) still hasn't had one single 10/10 exclusive, this is not fanboyism but undeniable fact! Pretty poor when you consider the 360 got its first 10/10 just a few months into its life with Oblivion (console exclusive at the time). Just look how many 360 10/10's there have been since! Granted its a really pretty game, but on Metacritic, it has more 8 scores than 9 scores and no 10s at all.
Its not even a consensus masterpiece to be even considered in the running for GOTY.

Much as I detest the embarassing PS3 fanboys posting in this thread it's nice to see the legions of oh-so-funny morons who love to make idiotic comments about the latest Playstation getting a much needed to kick up the arse;-)

Played the demo last night. Seems like a very solid game apart from the damn annoying sixaxis balancing crap. I cant say the graphics blew me away they look very much... well.. er... this gen really. Basically what I have come to expect.

Will be trading some stuff in for this come december.

Played the beginning of the demo last night, looks quite pretty, and the cover system is fun, but switched demo off in frustration at the large gun fight in the temple. Too much shooty shooty for my liking, and the tilt thing with the Sixaxis didn't feel good. Always thought this was being over-hyped beyond belief and this begins to confirm it. Will give the demo another shot though, and Kristan did seem to say it picks up after the start. Still makes me reluctant to shell out the £££ though.

The animation in Uncharted is the best i'v seen so far, with beautiful and vibrant backgrounds, according to dev they only used 30% of the system power, imagine that)... very few games can equall it's visual goodness.

Yay! Finally game worth getting a PS3 for. Things should get interesting now...

Now I may actually have to face up to the possibility of buying a PS3 at some point. I genuinely didn't realise this was a platform-exclusive (being in the mindset that PS3 simply doesn't have any exclusives) until I remembered that Sony owns Naughty Dog.

Well it's still going to take more than one must-buy game to justify the purchase. I also strictly demand a SKU with full backwards-compatibility.

it's already outselling the X360 and launching amazing games, no doubt that it's a good, reliable system... what i would say is that it's potentially much better then X360. "but next year there will be no doubt about that"....
Don't get me wrong, i like some of the games X360 have, but from now on, that system is somehow explored to the max (Gears of War, Mass Effect, Bioshok, Forza 2) with little improvement from now on in terms of technical performance... on the other hand, Ps3 is just starting.

well, that's a fairly dubious assertion. i highly doubt we've seen the best from either machine to be honest.

don't forget that the 360's GPU simply has more pixel-pushing ability than the RSX, so that'll always hamstring the PS3 slightly -- as that ND interview states, they're having to do part of the GPUs work in the SPUs to relieve the strain on it.

What's interesting for me is the prospect that PS3-exclusive first/second-party titles will outshine the 360, but multi-platform stuff that's traditionally PlayStation bread-and-butter will look better on 360. Because of the peculiarities of the PS3's architecture, you can't port a generalised engine over to it, and have to spend a lot more development effort to achieve equivalence with the 360.

That would be an interesting situation, because the PlayStation brand is typically the mainstream, middle-of-the-road choice for most people to play their EA and Ubisoft titles on, and its rivals (N64, Cube, XBox, Wii) have sold on the strength of their exclusives.

Call of Duty 4 and Assassins Creed are equally good "some even say that they'r somehow, in terms of graphics, better for the Ps3", we will see about UT3, "something tells me that Ps3 version will have superior performance"... on top of that, Dirt, Oblivion, Fight Night 3, Darkness etc.... In time, as the developers start to feel confortable with the hardware, multiplatform games will be just as good, or even better for the Ps3, if they want to put the extra effort.

Congrats PS3, You finally have a game that isn't shit or a port.

Bioshok and Gears of War (with added content) have been launched for Pc... Halo 3 in time will too, so..., the X360 is the only platform who doesn't seem to know the meaning of the word "exclusive".
Now, you don't see Ratchet, Uncharted, Resistance, God of War, Killzone, Heavenly Sword, GT5 etc... ported to the Pc or any other system do you??

But how is that possible? This mere, 8 hour, game alone has almost completely filled a Blu-Ray disc, surely if the PS3's technical performance is unlocked even more then it'll be too much data for a single BR disc to hold....

is that supose to be funny??? really because you sounded pretty retarded with that comment, only an ignorant person LIKE YOU would question the advantage of BluRay... for instance, the 1st level of Killzone 2, alone, took 3 GB from the disc..., that doesn't make it necessary a 1h journey to the 2nd... developers can invest in graphics, videos, features and so much more instead of just level length. If you think about it, it's pretty stupid to imagine games of 20, 25 hrs..., just doesn't make sence and no one ever promissed that, only better quality.

For which Naughty Dog said on their own website that any dev who states the percentage they're pushing a console are simply blowing smoke. And now they're happy to blow smoke. Hmmm.

After last gen, I'm surprised there are still gamers who are taken in so easily by "We're only using XX percent of the power" comments. But then again, I guess devs always know that such comments will touch certain types of gamers in ways which will make them groan with pleasure. ;)

Anyway, I look forward to playing Uncharted at some time in the future.
