Ultima Online to expand in September News

Mythic has announced that it will release the 8th expansion to EA's venerable MMO, Ultima Online, on September 8th.

The release of Ultima Online: The Stygian Abyss will come just ahead of the 12th anniversary of the game's release at the end of September.

The expansion adds a single giant dungeon to the isometric fantasy world, as well as a playable Gargoyle race and its homeland, Ter Mur.

Not only is it still running, but twice EA have cancelled sequels to it. Guess it's a safe money maker with those that are still playing

Bllimey, the stygian abyss? I remember playing the 3d cave games based on that on my old 286 pc many many years ago.
2 games I really would have liked to have seen remade and updated.

Tried to get back into this about 8 months ago, unfortunately its still pretty buggy in places. Still it brought back alot of good memories :)

Another single player Ultima game would be great. Even IX, not so great compared to the others, was very good still.

EDIT: Yes, I wonder if the stygian abyss is going to be anything like the one in ultima underworld.
