UK Charts: Star Wars maintains grip

It's all about using the Force.

It was a Star Wars one-two at the top of the UK games charts this week, with LucasArts' Revenge Of The Sith holding on for the fourth straight week, and Eidos/Giant's Lego Star Wars moving up two places to number two.

This week's highest new entry was THQ's Xbox-only WWE Wrestlemania XXI at number three, nudging Championship Manager 5 down into the number four spot in the process after its recent PS2/Xbox assisted flirtation with the top of the charts.

Other new entries into the Top 40 include Midway's Area 51 at number eight, Namco's PS2-only Moto GP 4 at 16, while the arrival of the DS version of Need For Speed Underground 2 helped propel EA's hugely successful street racing title back up to 17.

Elsewhere on the new release front, Midnight Club 3 continues to hold up well for Rockstar, remaining at five, FIFA Street continues its good run at number six, while Microsoft's big summer hit Forza Motorsport slips four places to seven, just ahead of Gran Turismo 4 which moves down two to ten.

Meanwhile, Sony's Singstar Popworld continues to pull in the punters, dropping two places to number 11, Guild Wars drops three to 13, Imperial Glory moves down five to 18, while Fight Night Round 2 moves up five to number 29.

The rest of the chart shows little movement, with a lot of old favourites continuing to hog the chart space, such as the platinum re-issue of Pro Evolution Soccer at number nine, and Simpsons Hit & Run at 15. Check out the full listings at www.chart-track.co.uk.

Next week's listing is unlikely to show a huge amount of activity, with a limited number of releases forthcoming. VU will be hoping for big things from Cold Winter (PS2), while Nintendo may scrape a Top 40 place with Donkey Konga 2 (Cube), and Ridge Racer (DS).
