UK date for Guitar Hero on X360
Following US announcement.
Guitar Hero II for Xbox 360 is ready and set for a Good Friday release in the UK, senior retail sources told Eurogamer this morning, despite the fact that, er, most of the shops will be shut.
Activision US announced on Friday that the game - which comes bundled with the awesome-looking "X-Plorer" guitar peripheral - will be debuting there on 3rd April.
"UK gamers won't have to wait very long at all," we were told. "It's due out on 6th April."
As well as offering all the songs found in the excellent PlayStation 2 release of Guitar Hero II, the Xbox 360 version will introduce several bonus songs. Activision has also dropped big hints about downloadable content plans.
And with that peripheral out in public, it seems safe to assume future Guitar Hero games will head to Xbox 360 as well - with the series continuing in the hands of Tony Hawk developer Neversoft following original developer Harmonix' purchase by MTV.
Activision UK said it had yet to announce the game's release date and couldn't comment on retail speculation.

UNSCmasterCHEF, I would be stunned if there weren't eventually extra tracks to download from XBL.

That's pretty much the biggest reason for buying this imo, the chance to play the tracks from the first game in the second game's system.
Mmm.. can't wait!

I DO hope they release the original soundtrack on Live, but I hope you don't have to pay for it, or at least not too much. The price of an XBLA game for the entire lot would be good.

If the 360 version included a wireless guiter, I would happily buy it again... but the option for downloading GH1 tracks (and paying for them again) and online leaderboards is not enough for me to buy it again.
But a great game for those who doesn't have a PS2.
