UK charts: Wii Sports Resort on top
Wolfenstein resurrection out-ranked.
Wii Sports Resort edges past newcomer Wolfenstein to top the UK All-Formats chart for the week ending 22nd August. There are only 2000 sales between them, though.
Previous leader Ashes Cricket is pushed to three, followed by Wii Fit at four and Call of Duty: World at War at five.
Price promotions help Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood stick around at six, tailed by Mario Kart Wii at seven, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 at eight, Fight Night Round 4 at nine and Prototype at 10.
Madden NFL 10 predictably tumbles out of the top 10 down to 20, and there are reappearances for Assassin's Creed at 24, Guitar Hero On Tour at 28 and Dead Space at 35.

I tried the 360 demo last night and it wasn't too bad at all, graphically solid if hardly stunning (cute characters though) and quite accomplished gameplay wise. I actually enjoyed it much to my surprise, it was certainly a lot better than I expected.

That's true, and that really shows how niche the internet whinings are in the "big picture".

So where's EG's G-Force review then if it has been out a couple of weeks?

G-Force is actually a decent third-person shooter. It's just a poor match-up between a game engine designed for older players, and a movie aimed at little kids. My son and his friends struggled to cope with some of the frantic combat, since it requires you to do a lot of strafing and aiming using both sticks and both triggers at the same time. Any kid who can handle this probably won't be interested in a game about talking guinea pigs.
So it's in the weird position of being a technically good game, but poor game design for the target audience.

Would be nice to have a review of a few more titles - as interesting as 'Hands On' and 'Preview' articles are I want some real opinions rather than being fed marketing department BS second hand via limited access and tightly controlled session write-ups.
I also quite enjoyed the G-Force film with my kids and they want the game.....is it worth the cash??

Is that all MS are doing this year? OMG. What a terrible business strategy! Better sell my 360.
Pleased also to see Dead Space back in the charts.
And as an Aussie the Ashes game can now officially get fucked.

Depends how old your kids are, and how adept they are with a joypad. You may end up playing the game for them, since it gets pretty frustrating from around halfway through.
I've posted a review on my blog, which is dedicated to coverage of kids games: http://pi xel-daddy.co.uk/2009/08/24/revi...
