As long as there won't be any god awful on foot sections, the game populous will be happy

I loved Driver 3, and to some extent the PSP Driver game. Certainly more than the driving in GTAIV, though like has been said they really need to keep you in the car. As soon as you get out, you're competing directly with a lot of good games.

It's called "Driver", not "Driver and Runner with some Walking when appropriate". That'd be a silly name.

Driver is not in the same genre as GTA. Driver is (or should be) closer to Need For Speed: Most Wanted than GTA. But instead of races, you have hollywood style car chases and other stuff in the same vein. At least, it used to be, until Parallell Lines.

That is very easy - just be like Saints Row 2 :-)

Wasn't Driver 3 called 'Driv3r' in that annoying 'replacing letters with numbers makes me c00l, hurhurhur' way?

Driv3r was Driv3l. And the sequel wasn't called DrIVer. (apologies to John Walker, I know he's reading this from astride his giant bat)

Here's your announcement, leaked by me:

Horrible driving series Driver, famed for such standouts in hair-tearing frustration as 'The President's Run' and 'the alleyways of Havana', is being dredged up yet again by ill-advised publishers who think the name has any cachet. The game will feature a stylish advertising campaign to make it look good on the cover of EDGE and appeal to simple-minded imbeciles in Game, but will continue to be vastly inferior to ancient stuff like Die Hard Trilogy and GTA2, never mind the current gen favourites Saint's Row 2 and GTA IV. Gamers can expect more boring maps, terrible AI, vindictive cops and dull missions when the game slops onto the usual platforms in November where it will be roundly ignored in the Christmas rush. A patch to make it possible to finish the second mission will be hurried out the door a few weeks later.

Tsk, if you can't beat Driver without cheating, you're not a real gamer. I never used cheats, and I don't consider myself particularly good at any games.

Roll on E3...

I don't think there will be an E3 this year.
