Two Worlds in July
Ongoing content planned.
SouthPeak has cleared the air and announced that Two Worlds will be coming to PC and Xbox 360 in July.
It follows news that the console version had mysteriously slipped of the release radar, with the publisher unable to issue any reasons why.
Both versions will also make use of an MMO-style multiplayer mode, which will continually add more content to the game.
It'll be a completely separate feature from the single-player role-playing experience, and will let you congregate with up-to seven of your friends in a lobby area before heading out and adventuring together. There'll be team matches, horse racing, and all manner of other events to indulge in - all for the hefty sum of nothing. That's right, it's completely free - no subscriptions here.
"We're thrilled with the progress that Two Worlds' multiplayer content is making, although the extensive play-balancing and testing that content requires has necessitated a shift of the release date to late July," said Melanie Mroz, executive vice president of SouthPeak. "We want Two Worlds to truly live up to its potential and gamers can rest assured that it will be well worth the wait."
Two Worlds is a sprawling RPG from Reality Pump, which preaches freedom of choice in player actions. The storyline revolves around a complicated tale of ancient deities and new horrors that put one of a pair of worlds in imminent peril.

I gag to be able to take your character from the single player game in their current state of development and do co-op stuff with your mates current characters. Apart from the general coolness of being able to play together, it would make for fantastic bragging rights re your character's improvements that you developed in the single player game.

It would be good, though I think I read that you won't be able to transer your single player to the online - they're been treated as completely different.

Oh man, that would be so cool (tho not a deal-breaker) to do. Can't be that hard to do, they're only pre-loading character stat's after all ...
Here's hoping.

It'd be an issue of balancing the game.
Is this game any good then, I always assumed it was a post Oblivion cash in.

I don't wanna play with strangers in MP, I never do. I want to play with my mates CO-OPERATIVELY cos, you know, it's like 20x better and we can play to each others strengths (real and game) which you'll never get going with strangers ...
Come to that, being unbalanced (as individuals in a TEAM effort) is what would make the game for me.
It's certainly coming in on the coattails of Oblivion. The vibe I have at the moment is that of the many elements that consititute a good RPG, they have done pretty well on some and not so well on others.
The positive stuff I've heard is that it's big, free-form, looks nice and, alledgedly, has co-op MP in it (clearly my major plus!).
The negative stuff I've heard is that you can't interact with the environment that much (dunno if they've employed Havok at all - shame if they haven't as it rocks) and the combat is of the 'mash the buttons quickly' type although fighting with magic is much better apparently.
