Two demos on US PS3 Store News

PlayStation 3 News by Tom Bramwell

16 November, 2007

Blazing Angels 2 and Toy Home are the two demos posted on the US PlayStation 3 Store this week, giving you a chance to finally fix that pesky old World War II's little red wagon, and then drive little red wagons around for a bit.

Blazing Angels: Secret Missions of World War II sees players return to the skies above everyone's favourite Second World War and introduces a new progression system and an in-cockpit view among other tweaks and changes.

These weren't enough to get Eurogamer's Rob Fahey terribly excited during his review of the Xbox 360 version, but with the benefit of the demo you won't have to rely on what that old maniac says to inform your purchase decision ahead of the 23rd November PS3 release date. Providing you've got 1GB of hard disk space free.

Toy Home, meanwhile, is a Game Republic-authored racing game where you traverse eight racetracks spread around a house and filled with obstacles. It's got 8-player multiplay but no giant crabs of which we're aware.

Elsewhere on the US PSN shop this week there are loads of trailers - including some for Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, PAIN, Time Crisis 4, Burnout Paradise and Uncharted, and some more Uncharted wallpapers.

Thought the BA2 demo was a bit crap actually. Flying in Warhawk is a lot more fun.

Isn't a gun-less Time Crisis 4 demo be a bit pointless?

Toy Home = MicroMachines + basic physics puzzles + compulsory tilt controls

Are you sure you're interested?

I tried Toy Home last night, somewhat reminescent of Toy Racer on the Dreamcast and that Mad Whateveritscalled game on the 360. The enforced SIXAXIS motion controls just put me off the game though as I just couldn't get on with them at all. Sadly, you cannot disable them in favour of standard controls either, which in these post-Lair times is a huge mistake I feel. Thus I ended up deleting it. Shame really as it seemed quite decent otherwise.

Perhaps not the best place to post this comment; the recent Burnout videos have got me scared. One of the core prinicples of the Burnout series is their 60fps liquid loveliness. The current PS3 videos make Paradise look like it's been built from Unreal FPS Engine running at 25 - 30fps.

Might that be because most videos are only encoded at 25-30 fps anyway. ;)

crate a new user in the xmb.
then 'sign up for playstation network'
follow the steps but put in an American address (i put microsoft's redmod addy)
hey presto. now when you select that user and the store it will take you to the us store...

exactly the same with japanese but you might want to google for what each screen means.
