Twilight Princess script online News

GameCube Wii News by Robert Purchese

13 February, 2007

A man known only as "Mgoblue" has uploaded the entire script of The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess to the internet, a document so large it engulfed 212 pages of our common word-processor.

It contains absolutely everything, even the author's own feelings regarding the Zelda series as a whole. Naturally you should be aware of the consequences before you follow our internet trail to the guide, as it does contain spoilers, although the epic piece is split into chapters and sections for easier navigation.

It really is a beautiful beast. Sit by our fire, let us read you an excerpt:

  • FADO
  • Hey! Link! You there?
  • Hey, you mind helpin' me herd the goats?
  • They ain't listenin' to me lately!
  • Hey, where's Epona?

It's the second project by the self proclaimed "arteest", the previous being a highly-rated Star Fox Assault guide. We think it's all a little weird, but we can't fault his effort.

He also seems to be quite open to emails; ready to talk about anything Zelda.

"I can probably recite every line of dialogue front and back and while burping and can espouse all the crazy timeline theories that abound and what it all means in the grand scheme of things," he adds at the bottom of his creation.

What would you ask him?

I'd ask him if he's spending Valentines alone.
Oh actually, that might be a waste of time....

Yes and no, game transcripts are usually of non localized japanese games, its purpose is for the people to understand what the hell in going on.

This is a ... waste of time, besides its better that another Halo 3 non-news.

I'd be a tease and tell him he missed a line of dialogue that you only get from talking to Midna at 10 hours, 15 minutes and 37 seconds into the game and you can only get that line if you talk to the postman 18 times, the shaman in Kakariko 952 times and then the cat outside the inn in Hyrule Town 2 times and then to Midna.

Just to see what he'd do.

what if he just played the game through reading out loud into a pc with speech recognition? wouldn't take too much effort, and the fact it's taken this long to produce it would mean he took his time at the game :P

/me shrugs.

Quite a bit of hypocrisy here. Nobody ever had a hobby that seemed a bit like a waste of a time, a bit pointless, was looked down upon?

I know there are scripts for the MGS games too, which was very helpful when I was trying to find a quote for a discussion I was having.

Hmm - guess what, almost every game entry on gamefaqs has a game script FAQ - how has this made the news?

Cone on there is plenty other stuff to write about - what about the new voting channel that's been release on wii this morning?
