Turtles in Time remake price dropped
Out next Weds for less than expected.
Ubisoft has cut the price of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled from 1200 Microsoft Points to 800.
The game's due out on 5th August as part of the Summer of Arcade marketing ruse, whose high prices have already convinced Microsoft to offer US gamers a 400-MSP rebate if they buy all five expensive titles.
Well, now Turtles is a bit less expensive, according to IGN. 800 Microsoft Points equates to £6.80 or €9.60.
Turtles in Time Re-Shelled is an update of the early-nineties 16-bit scrolling beat-'em-up, and if you're getting a sense of deja vu then it's probably because you're aware of the other TMNT game on Live - a port of the 1989 arcade release.
Look out for our review of Re-Shelled on Wednesday. PSN and WiiWare releases will reportedly follow the XBLA launch.

This is the second game in the last few weeks where the publisher and Microsoft have listened to the criticism of the higher price. Wasn't sure if I was gonna get this, now it's a definite purchase!

I enjoyed it when I was caught up in the hype of Turtles in the early 90s, and I loved the arcade game then (along with the similar Simpsons one).
Might just seem boring now, but at 800 points thats not a silly price and I might get it. Loving Spolsion Man even though I nearly didn't buy it because I thought it was going to be 1200 points...

I think a fiver for most of these games, especially considering they're no longer involving distribution costs of DVD's anymore, is more reasonable, even as little as say £4 for the more premium titles, 8 quid maybe for things like Battlefield 1943. Nice at least to see prices coming down when people complain enough tho.
Will be interesting to see the prices they charge for full (older) 360 games like Bioshock against what you can get them for 2nd hand online...
