Turok patch to remove team kill bonus

On day the game hits shelves.

Touchstone has confirmed it will remove a feature in Turok which rewards players for murderising their team-mates.

As reported by Wired, the 'Grab Bag' achievement is earned by killing at least one creature, enemy, team-mate and yourself during an online match. Having realised this is rubbish, Touchstone will issue a patch to amend the achievement so you don't have to take out a team-mate to get the points.

The patch will be out the same day as the game - 8th February - so you'll have to download it before you can play Turok online.

It'll affect both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The PS3 patch will also add rumble functionality and 1080i support.

A PC version of Turok is still promised for this "spring". In the meantime you'll find all manner of screenshots, videos, interviews and previews over on the gamepage.

it was an idiotic achievement in the first place, it's the one thing nearly all online gamers hate and they make it an achievement!?!

So if you've pre-ordered, or buy a copy from an independent retailer who isn't too stressed about street dates, would that mean that you could go on and earn the acheivement with others, wait for the patch, then earn the replacement points too? Or would the patch delete the points you'd earned?

I'm not planning on getting the game as it looks a bit poor but it's a possibility for all gamerscore freaks.

Looking at the achievement list for the game this was the worst of many bad achievements. Achievements such as this make people run around killing bugs and dinosaurs not playing the game properly ruining the fun for people that dont care about achievements.

    @Andy247

Read the article dammit! Their not replacing any achieves they just make it so you dont need to kill a teammate to get it. The achievement will be the same.

Sounds more like a bug then a genuine design decisions.
"Kill something to get that achievement, oh wait does that mean it works if you kill a friendly aswell??.......Oh yeah better fix that".

Wow, can't believe they'd put such an idiotic thing in there. You go online and every idiot you meet tries to teamkill you because they're grinding for achievements.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. Like most multiplayer-based achievements, anyway (I'm looking at you, GRAW and GoW).

You'd have to be a cock sucker of epic proportions, wouldn't you?

They should patch it so the game doesn't suck anymore.

I dont think the game is going to be all bad considering fairly positive reviews so far. I think it will fall in the Stranglehold and Timeshift category wich is good but not great. Personally i loved Stranglehold btw. An average of 80% usually means pretty good in my experience.

"and i say this because i get a lot of shit online for my gamertag"

People give you shit because you called yourself "Seamonster King"? Am I missing something? Its hardly a controversial tag.
