Turok demo now on Xbox Live
Everybody do the dinosaur.
A new demo for the latest instalment in the Turok series has popped up on Xbox Live.
Turok, as the game is radically titled, follows the adventures of former black ops commando Joseph Turok. As part of an elite special forces squad called Whiskey Company, he is on a mission to bring down war criminal Roland Kane.
But rather than just hole up in Surrey like old friend of the British Government General Pinochet, Kane is hiding out on a genetically altered planet. Full of dinosaurs. Complications ensue.
The demo is available for download now, weighing in at 1.17 GB. Find out what fellow Eurogamers make of it over on the forum.
Turok is out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this spring.

not sure where people are getting the sluggish thing from seems fine to me, unless people are walking arounf crouch!
Could be worth a play through if your needing a single FPS and have completed all the really good titles

Looks like another generic rubbish console FPS that I will be happy to ignore.

Didn't they give the same score to Lair? Look at how much fun that turned out to be.
Flashlight/sprint button would've been fun.

My memories of Turok on the N64 is a game of sheer excellence, fun and great programming. What I witnessed and experienced with the DEMO is short of anything that Turok once stood for. The Iguana team then is alas not the guys behind this atrocious game that starts off so bland and unimaginative.
This shiiit is rental material at best at worst it makes Iguana turns in its grave!

If you didn't think it was good, good for you! but my opinion is that it was pretty damn good!
Perhaps i'm just forgiving, but theres not many games out there where your roaming a jungle and a massive, graphically impressive dinosaur comes running after you.
I'll be buying it, and i reckon alot more people will as well.

It looks a bit like Pariah with dinosaurs.
Ron Perlman!
You can kill all the dinos with the knife stupidly easily. Presumably there will be dinos with frickin laser guns on their backs later in the game to make it slightly challenging.
The AI is 'erratic'. Hopefully there are genuinely tough skill levels in the finished game.
Headshots with the bow from afar rarely work even when the crosshairs are red though you're encouraged to shoot things in the head to get the best results.
Yet somehow it still has the OTT B-movie charm of the original. Even though the weapons are the very definition of 'generic'.
A second hand purchase methinks.

not bad needs some work still, using a knife on dinos is much fun tho

on the other hand: Ron Perlman!

Most bizarre comment ever levelled at a video game.
How much health should a human being have? I'm in good shape but I'm pretty sure a single bullet in real life would make me an ineffective combatant IMMEDIATELY. I'd consider myself lucky if I spent the next 20 mins bleeding out on the floor.
As for how long I would last facing down dinosaurs...
