First!

Tron still rocks and hopefully these games have stood the test of time too :-)

Fantastic !!! I absolutely LOVED the Disks of Tron game. I remember spending an entire afternoon putting 10p after 10p into the arcade game.

I bet it's nowhere near as good as I remember it. :-/

Nice bezels there!

I wish they'd include the Intellivision's "Deadly Discs" as well.

Didn't the arcade original entail standing in a sort of upright giant cigar tube and using twin sticks?

Not the one I played. It was a sit-in cabinet with speakers *right* behind your ears.

I still remember the colour of the "fire" button. How weird is that after 20 years ?!

It had a big dial control too IIRC. Or maybe not....

These games are nothing without the special control setups.

DoT was great, but half the experience was standing in the booth-style cabinet it came in.

And the movie was boring.

Played Tron via MAME a few years back. I think I'll dig out the DVD tonight and watch it again.

"Disney Interactive has decided to celebrate 25 years of Tron by releasing the retro classic on Live Arcade"

Translation from slimy marketing speak:

"We have made 25 years worth of money from this franchise but we now have an excuse to gouge our customers for even more!"

If it was a celebration, they would release it for free. On XBLA it is just another revenue stream.

Still going to buy it in all likelyhood but I hate that sort of spin.

No need to worry, silver jon. Discs of Tron has held up very well over the years. Much better than the original has. =D

Good Stuff. Ill pick this up when my 360 comes back from repair (2nd time)
I used to love tron in the arcade and on mame. I would also recommend tron 2.0 on the pc. Great implementation of lightcycles. Only a gig.
