Trine PS3 out in Europe this week News

PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

15 September, 2009

Frozenbyte will finally release the PS3 version of Trine this Thursday on the PlayStation Store.

There's no word on price, although the developer earmarked a £20 price-point some months ago.

Already released on PC, Trine is an acclaimed platformer that combines the talents of three unique heroes: a nimble thief, a burly warrior and a magical wizard. And they must work together to overcome the challenges ahead.

Thankfully this can be handled co-operatively by you and two friends on the same machine.

Head over to our PC review of Trine for the full appraisal.

If it isn't too expensive, it's a purchase for me. Something me and my brother can play on, considering we've enjoyed Reshelled a lot.

I had heard (but can't remember where) that the PS3 version would be half the price of the PC version, like the look of this but yes, needs to be the right price.

I've been waiting for this for ages. Have no money at the minute though - typical!

Looks awesome.

Well I remember hearing £17.99.. which is too expensive. If it's £12 odd or less I'd probably buy day 1.

I might have to give it a miss for £17.99. I'm all for a high price point to start with, but downloadable games very very rarely drop in price. You can get quite a lot of good games off the internet for less than £17.99.

Edit - That comment sounds really harsh on read back. The game itself looks great and I hope to be proved wrong :)

£9.99 really would have been the sweet spot.

Something worth noting is that Trine is also a Platinum trophy game and has a shit load of trophies to obtain.

Any chance of a Blu-ray release?

Their stance is that it is a full game, worthy of retail release, hence it includes a platinum trophy.

I guess I'll be buying this then. It's currently £19.99 on Steam.

I'm really looking forward to this, but I too am looking for a price point of around £12 or less. That's about my limit on DL games.

Agree - 10 to 12 quid is as much as I will pay for PSN stuff.

When's the new Pixel Junk title released?

Hmm, 20 euro is a bit steep for something that is allegedly rather short. I really want to play this but I suppose I can wait. :/

This game really appeals, especially to fill the co-op gap left by finishing LBP, but add me to the list of people who think the price is way too high.

Like, 50% too high.

Been looking forward to this one. Looks good, but like others I hope there'll be a demo (with the option to unlock full game).

Also very much looking forward to PixelJunk Shooter.

Again, I was looking forward to this a lot, but pretty much lost interest when it failed to appear. I considered getting it on Steam, but I'd rather have the local co-op.

And now I'm pretty much broke, so I definitely won't be getting this for a while.. Nice to see it's finally coming though, I guess.

Think I'll get this when the PSN cards are released, should make it about 20% cheaper according to the current pre-order prices.

To expensive for a short, download only game, would have tried it for around a tenner but for £20 it's no sale!
