Transformers gets voice talent
Film and television actors in.
Activision has signed up Transformers film stars Shial LaBeouf and Megan Fox to reprise their roles in the game.
They'll be giving it the dramatics alongside the original television voices of Optimus Prime and Megatron, Peter Cullen and Frank Webber.
The game will be based on the upcoming film from Dreamworks and Paramount, and will enjoy a storyline created by the writer of the animated series Flint Dille.
"Transformers is an incredible franchise with huge global appeal, and our goal is to present a game that speaks to fans of the upcoming movie as well as to G1 fans," said Laird Malamed, head of production at Activision. "We have a fantastic line-up that includes original talent from the animated TV series and the upcoming film, bringing together the best of both worlds."
The console versions of Transformers are in development at Traveller's Tales, the brain behind LEGO Star Wars. Vicarious Visions is dealing with the DS outing and Savage Entertainment is handling the PSP.
No release date has been set, but we expect it not to be too far away from the 27th July film release.
Head over to our recent impressions of the game for more information.

People suck, robots kick ass. If they put in a "stealth section" I am going to write to the papers in outrage.

That would be "Frank Welker", Rob. You might also remember him as Dr. Claw.

I'm kinda looking forward to this as I'm nut about Transformers, but a demo in Xbox Live first would be a blessing so if I could see if it's a) Awesome 'coz it's Transformers or b) Crap because it's a movie tie-in.

I just hope Mr Rosbeef recorded an appropriate scream sample for when you get to stomp on the runty little git. I hear there's a minigame "Where's Le Boeuf?" - there's a bunch of crates, with SlB hiding in one, and you've got to rid the movie world of this talentless little girlyman as quickly as possible.
Or I could just be dreaming...
