Heh have only seen this review now but have to agree 7 is a travesty. A 10/10 game if ever there was one.

I loved this game but I think 8 out of 10 is not harsh. I think it may just be touching a 9, but I found combat to be quite poor so 8 is fine with me and still a very good score.

"And this is the first of Planescape Torment's problems, as it cheapens death."

Hmm, talk about 'missing the point'...

If nothing else, it should keep you busy until Baldur's Gate II is released!

He says about the best RPG of all time.

I'm getting the feeling that you didn't really "get" this game did you?

"And this is the first of Planescape Torment's problems, as it cheapens death." - Massive LOL

The only weak part about PST is the combat and even that was better than most we see today, I'm fairly certain that to award this masterpiece less than a 9 is a crime in some countries and you will most certainly face the consequences of your irrational actions.

A "7"? You rate the pinnacle of computer gaming a "7"? Man, that IS audacious!

The whole article is filth. Obviously, the guy who wrote it didn't even bother reading the dialogues and narration or even playing the game. At least 75% of the review is a nutshell which I can read off the cd box or play the game for 30 minutes.

Started playing this again, and just randomly stumbled upon this review for the first time. Shocking, really.

Planescape Torment still tells the most engaging story ever in a video game.

You will also discover that you are immortal - every time you are killed you spring back to life. And this is the first of Planescape Torment's problems, as it cheapens death.

It did get a bit silly at the end when you were ripping off/replacnig your limbs for power upgrades - very, very cool game though

The fact this reviewer kept on talking about 'tons of enemies' to fight, means he has no idea of what this game is all about. It is fair to say though, that his view is not a lonely one and partly explains why Baldur's Gate sold a million plus and this game only sold 400,000 or so.

You have to have an IQ to understand and enjoy this game and some reviewers just don't have enough of it.
