Tomb Raider Wii this year
But exact date still TBA.
Eidos is still unable to confirm exactly when Tomb Raider: Anniversary will be released on Nintendo Wii in Europe, but it did assure us today that it will be this side of Christmas.
Overnight, the publisher's American colleagues confirmed that the Wii version of Crystal Dynamics' brilliant re-imagining of Lara Croft's original platform adventure would appear there on 13th November at a USD 39.99 price point.
An announcement on the European release is, we're told, to be expected "very soon".
PS2 and PC versions of Anniversary were, of course, released earlier this year to tremendous acclaim - something matched this week by the 9/10-scoring Xbox 360 version, which is due for release at retail tomorrow alongside a PSP version.
The game will also be released on Xbox Live Marketplace in four, 600 Microsoft-point chunks for owners of Tomb Raider: Legend to download as an alternative to buying the boxed version, although exact timing for that has yet to be established.

Like the 360's delayed release of this game? Or maybe like the endless PS3 releases that happen after the 360 releases.
It happens to all the consoles, get over it...

Funny you should say that.. if you look on metacritic, the wii has more exclusive games rated 9/10 than the 360 or ps3. So yeah.. more ports is exactly what it needs (Whereas the other two need more exclusives i wouldve thought)

"If the new control scheme does as much for this game as it did for Resi Evil 4, it's a very worthwhile port and could easily become the best version of the game"
Yeah because RE4-Wii Edition is widely considered to be the best version....Oh wait, no it isn't actually
@smelly
The Wii does not have the most console exclusive 9/10+ games though does it. How many 10/10 games does the Wii have smelly? lol
Listen guys, it's great that you love your little Wiis but please quit with the hyperbole, yeah?

Well, a look at Metacritic seems to suggest that while it wasn't the highest-scoring version of the game, many reviewers seemed to think that the control scheme was indeed the best of all versions. The comments thread to the review on EG mostly agrees.
In the end, wether one likes a control scheme or not is pretty much a personal opinion. I can only say that I'm currently playing RE4 and having a hell of a time with it. And I didn't particularly like the pad-controlled Resident Evils. All I'm saying is the same could be the case with this new Tomb Raider.

I did not like the Wii controls of RE4 on the Wii and neither did EG (if the majority of reviewers had believed the new control mechanism to be a significant improvement I'm sure it would show on Metacritic, however, it does not)
