TimeShift for PS3 News

PlayStation 3 PC Xbox 360 News by Robert Purchese

18 May, 2007

Vivendi has decided to spread TimeShift onto PS3, where it will join the already confirmed PC and Xbox 360 versions.

However, we're waiting to hear back from the publisher on when exactly the game's out and if there's any differences between the versions announced.

TimeShift was originally planned for a late 2005 release through the hands of Atari, but has since been dragged back to the drawing board, changed publishing hands, and been thoroughly updated for new technology.

It will let you manipulate time in your effort to splatter enemy brains all over the screen, apparently adjusting reactively to your gameplay style. So, if you're a timid fighter that hides behind cover you'll wield full time-stopping power, but if you're a trigger-happy Rambo you'll only be able to slow it down.

Pop over to our PS3 gallery to see how it's shaping up, or fast forward into Eurogamer TV for the latest trailer.

I actually prefered the original look of this game, now it just looks generic as hell.

I admire the relentlessness and stamina of people who make comments like this.

@absolutezero - The style previously was nice, but everything was floaty and looked like shit. This looks a lot better, would probably garner more sales too.

SoulJacker2000 is quite correct that a great majority of ports does not show PS3 in the better light, bit jerky or bit more jaggies and so on rather than being unplayable as some would make out.

Obivion and FN 3 is rare ones in which developers properly set aside time and program them suitably for PS3. Strange case where according to IGN Spiderman 3 is slightly better on X360 considering that it is Sony Picture's film that the game is based on!

This trend would probably continues for a while yet. I have both but would more likely get PS3 for its exclusive games mainly.

It's nice for Sony to pick up some titles isn't it? We can't begrudge them that, it's just a shame it's the most generic looking FPS shooter I've seen for a long while :/ I just can't gather up any anticipation for a game that gets soooo far into completion and then at the last second gets scrapped and taken back to the drawing board.

This is sarcasm right? I hope so, or else it is just a really stupid comment.

I fail to see just how much interest will this remake capture. On the 360, it's running right into H3, and on the PS3, most people are getting their FPS fix from Resistance.
