TimeShift dated in US News

PC Xbox 360 PlayStation 3
News by Robert Purchese

9 August, 2007

Sierra Entertainment UK has remained quiet on a European date for TimeShift, following confirmation that it will be released across the US on 30th October.

The PC and Xbox 360 versions, that is - PlayStation 3 owners will have to wait until December.

Developed by Saber Interactive, TimeShift was originally planned for a late 2005 release at the hands of Atari. But has since been dragged back to the drawing board, changed publishing hands, and been thoroughly updated for new technology.

Like Superman spinning the Earth, you'll be able to alter and manipulate time - a necessity when put up against overwhelming opposition. Adjusting the minutes and seconds will react intelligently to your play style, too.

So, if you're a bit frightened and prefer to duck for cover, you'll be granted full time stopping capabilities. But if you're a confident and trigger-happy John Rambo, you'll only be given time slowing powers. It should level up the playing field, apparently.

Head over to our TimeShift gallery for all of the latest trailers, screenshots, features and news.

TimeShift is due for release in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2007.

Liked the look of this game when it was all colourful and purpley.

Now it looks brown and dull. Thanks next gen.

not interested in what i've seen of this one so far, and with the glut of other decent titles coming out around this time, i think this may disappear into obscurity.

There's something scary about all the PS3 copies of multiformat games being late... hmm, could it be bigger storage space is a DOWNside? Or is it just that usual "PS3texturememorylol" issue...?

So is this going to be yet another UK developed game released in the US first?

I'm still cautiously optimistic. The game could be great fun, messing about with time is consistently a very amusing gameplay mechanism, but the game presently lacks any kind of showcase that displays it well. The new art style isn't exactly inspirational but then neither was the old look, and if it's fun enough, this'll be of lesser importance anyway. The last trailer was completely awful, but that's not to say the game will be.
