Tiger Woods PSN demo tomorrow News

PlayStation 3 News by Tom Bramwell

6 August, 2008

European PS3 owners should be able to download a free demo of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 tomorrow, Eurogamer has been told.

Electronic Arts wasn't immediately able to confirm whether the demo will also be released on Xbox Live, or what's in it, but we'll let you know when we hear back.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 offers coaching from Hank Haney, a Club Tuner for tweaking your sticks and four-player online games.

PS3 and 360 owners also get to compete for longest drives and things like that, while the Wii version has motion-sensor controls.

The full game's due out on PS3, 360, Wii, PS2 and PSP on 29th August in Europe.

Nice of them to release it early enough so that I can pick up a copy of 08 on the cheap as they clear stock if I don't think 09 is worth it.(don't care about online for Golf)

Nice but I have no plans to buy Tiger Woods this year as I've found the last three instalments on the Xbox 360 virtually indistinguishable from each other. I guess there's only so much one can do with a golf game. Likewise I think I'll be giving NHL and NBA Live a miss this year for the same reasons although I'll still check out the demos.

I did't buy last years, so hopefully enough will have happend since 07 to convince me 09 is worth getting.

I love the Tiger Woods series, but it hasn't really changed since 2004.

Will PS3 and Xbox 360 owners be able to compete against each other..? Or only within their own console specific networks? Would be cool if EA let everyone compete against everyone, regardless of platform.

While I do enjoy a round now and again on demos (and I'll probably download this demo too!), I've never been able to actually part with cash for a golf game since Actua Golf 2!

Maybe this one will dazzle me, well, as much as golf can dazzle!

Thanks, you pretty much answered the questions I'd yet to ask there. :) I played a lot of 2004 on the PS2, I really enjoyed it but didn't really see the point of the annual update.

I'd guess a high def one would be pretty good but I'd be scared it won't be as much fun as Everybody's Golf.

I'll have a go at the demo tomorrow.
