Sounds very promising!

On the comment on photo uploads - Couldn't they implement a system where you import photos using the SD card slot?

Very excited by this! The 07 version was deeply flawed, but also deeply enjoyable. If they can fix the flaws, this should be a must-buy!

Now that online gaming is up and running with Wii, exactly what is the issue with getting it working with Tiger Woods 08? Hmm. Other than that, this looks great.

"Sadly, the new photo game face system doesn't feature on the Wii - for the simple reason that there's no way of importing photographs into games on the system."

That SD slot isn't as useful as it first looked apparently.

I got £25 part exchange for the Wii version of Tiger Woods 07 which is pretty good considering the new and hopefully not rushed version is only a matter of weeks away. Those Xbox 360 shots look shit; I hope the Wii version has better graphics.

Hog-lumps - I did ask about that, and he implied that games aren't able to access photos stored on the SD card at the moment. Perhaps something for a later firmware revision.

"To fade and draw the ball, meanwhile, the game now gets you to cock your wrist to twist the Wiimote - a somewhat realistic motion, since opening and closing the club-face is exactly how this works in real life."

If this works - I am sold!

Hmmm... I hope that both potential audiences are catered for equally.

totally agree - tiger 07 was a good game, but i've still not completed one game of career - i do 9 holes, get tired / bored but unless i'm being a twat) can't save progress midgame.

Things like that need changing, and it sounds like 08 will be very good - like all things the first time its made there's going to be flaws, and it (should) get continuously better with each version.

The fact a different team are doing the wii version to the others is sure to help too.

Thanks Shinji.

I did wonder whether it would be because of some technical reason - maybe the SD card slot is made inaccessible during games for anit-pirating/cheating reasons???

Anway, it seems like such an obvious functionality that hopefully they'll update the firmware as you suggest!

Excitetruck manages it.

Personally I am not that fussed about the lack of importing photos. I would prefer to see mii faces grotesquely glued onto realistic bodies. But the facial design - and pointless item collection are my least favourite bits of this game anyway.

Give me accurate controls, a decent challenge mode and some semblance of on line play and the rest doesn't matter.

I've always found TW to be one of the most accessible games anyway. So the idea of making it moreso worries me slightly.

So the big problem for most with tiger woods 07 was the swing power was measured by distance of swing and not velocity, and they're saying the same thing for this one. Am i reading this all wrong? I might have a big soft swing - doesn't mean i want to whack the ball into next year does it?

Bring on 18 hole wiiGolf. Frankly they got spot on first time and EA can't be seen to just do the same controls. Tossers of the world unite.

"The foursomes mode is, perhaps, more interesting; a form of four-player game, it lets the players who aren't at the tee try and put their opponents off by encouraging crowd noise, playing with the screen or even making gusts of wind appear. Only time will tell if this is infuriating or fun, but it's original, at least"

Apart from it's not original, there was a version of this on Mario Golf in the cube.

Hmm, lack of online play might be enough to dissuade me from picking this up. I really like 2007, and whilst far from perfect, it is lots of fun. I guess it could depend on the trade in value once the reviews for this start to come out.
