THQ picks up 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 News by Ellie Gibson

13 October, 2008

It looks like 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand will still get a release despite the demise of former publisher Sierra.

It's being listed in the classification database of Australia's ratings board. They've given the game a 15+ certificate and are advising it features "strong violence and coarse language, sexual and drug references".

The publisher is listed as being THQ - so it would seem they've picked up the rights from Sierra. Blood on the Sand was originally in development for PS3 and Xbox 360, and due out this autumn.

THQ has yet to make any official announcements, and there's no word on when the game might hit the shops. Seeing as it's already being rated, however, a pre-Christmas release looks likely.

How the bloody hell does the OFLC give drivel like this a rating but refuse to classify a game like Falllout 3? It is embarrassing being an Australian gamer sometimes.

Wow, bad choice of license THQ. Or maybe not. It will probably sell a shitload even if it sucks.
