Costumes! Lady calendars! Weapons!

THQ has opted to run bespoke Darksiders: Wrath of War pre-order campaigns at a handful of retailers.

GAME will supply buyers with a code for in-game weapon The Harvester - a big scythe that reaps people - while Play has War (the hero) costumes for Xbox Live or PlayStation Home Avatars. They're nice, but not as novel as Amazon's horse-head hat for Avatars. And Gamestation packs a Darksiders comic book that's drawn by Joe Madureira.

None of those are as good as tits, though, which is why HMV has a Your Last Centrefold calendar to give away.

We've cobbled together pictures of all the pre-order gifts in our Darksiders: Wrath of War gallery.

Game's out 8th January on PS3 and Xbox 360. Head over to our recently written Darksiders hands-on for a face full of words.

Speaking of pre-orders, Dante's Inferno gets an exclusive devine edition on PS3, plus demo in the US today for PS3 too. 360, next week.

sadly as much as I love the art (was a big battle chasers fan, wish it was actually finished but ah well) this has gone on the back burner untill I'm done with Bayonetta as that hits around the same time.

Agree with erp there, times a wasting EG, I would have thought given its release is only a month away THQ would have been more forth coming with a review copy.

I wonder how much nudity there will actually be in this calendar, if any at all!

Also, GAME are doing a 'Death' version of Dantes Inferno, it's the same as the 'Divine' edition on the PS3, but it's also available on the Xbox!

Darksiders is more of a action, puzzle, adventure rather then a hack-slash as GOW is...It seem to have getting a lot of positive previews. Play PS3 scored it 10/10, 360xbox Gamer scored it 9/10...Has been described as a darker-meaner Zelda game for the 360/PS3.

Bayonetta scored 40/40 (Famutsi Japan for 360, 38/40 for PS3), 10/10 Edge Magazine (360 tested), 9/10 Eurogamer.

Personally I like the look and atmosphere of Dante's Inferno and Darksiders more then GOW III.
