Thinking and puffing on XBLA this week
Brain Challenge and Bliss Island.
Gameloft's Brain Challenge and Codemasters' Bliss Island are tomorrow's Xbox Live Arcade downloads, priced at 800 Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60) and 400 Points (GBP 3.40 / EUR 4.80) respectively.
The former is obviously "inspired by" Nintendo's Brain Training series, and has 20 different challenges split into five categories - Memory, Visual, Logic, Maths and Focus - to "train all areas of your brain". Would you believe there's an option to keep track of daily progress, too? There's also multiplayer both online and off. Screenshots?
The other game, Bliss Island, is a veteran of downloadable PC and boxed PSP releases, and is an assortment of mini-games centring around a Zwooph called Hoshi, who does lots of things derived from blowing, if memory serves [Brain Challenge, presumably, will be the judge of that - Ed]. See how it looks in our Bliss Island screenshot gallery.
So, both games will be up on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow at 9am GMT, with demo versions to help persuade you, and then 12 unlockable Achievements for 200 gamerpoints since that's all you live for these days. Look out for our double-header review just as soon as the games are out.
