The World Ends With You heads West

Modern-day DS RPG due in April.

Square Enix has announced plans to release The World Ends With You in Europe on 18th April.

It's been out in Japan since last July where it's known as It's a Wonderful World - not to be confused with the 1939 film of the same name. Or the war that followed it.

The World Ends With You is a DS action role-playing game made by the Kingdom Hearts team, with characters designed by Final Fantasy familiar Tetsuya Nomura.

Interestingly it all takes place in Tokyo in the modern-day, where 15 year-old protagonist Neku Sakuraba wakes up with a strange black badge in his hand that turns out to be magical and forces him on a time-limited adventure he must complete or die.

This Shinigami Game lasts for seven days and has Neku bump into others involved along the way.

It's a bit wacky, and we had a chance to look at it last May, in case you had forgotten. Imagine forgetting something like that.

It's a Wonderful World debuted at four in the Japanese charts last summer, but disappeared from the top 10 a couple of weeks later.
