    If looks could kill, this game would be much easier.

    Is feudal intentionally misspelled in the sub-head?
  • Ceatlan #8 2 years ago

    I think you'll finding the spelling mistake is deliberate since it is a play on the words 'Fuel for thought'
  • HenryFitz #9 2 years ago

    Food for thought is the more common phrase.

    Even with all the damn glitches (pre patches) The Witcher was and still is one of my favorite games. After the EE patches and user added content along with the menu and alchemy bits updated it was pure bliss. I for one cannot wait for this! And I will reiterate the wishes of my fellow PC brethren - while we have nothing against consoles, PLEASE for the love of the heavens do not dumb down PC features and functions for the sake of a console port. AMEN!

    (This post is in no way an attack on consoles what so ever. Merely stating a fact. Peace be with you all)

    @all-the-pc-elitist-even-those-who-do-not-label-themselves-as-such

    Yeah, right, because the first Witcher was such a complex, tactically demanding game, utilisng all of the advantages of mouse and keyboard controls.

    You're silly sometimes.

    The only thing from the original that would have to be "dumbed down" for it to work on a console is the alchemy system, which, complex as it was, was also nowhere near good. All the things that made that game great are not in any way PC exclusive.

    ^^ what I am referring to is short cut keys for one thing. Case in point ME2 which did not have keyboard short cuts for things such as journal etc. And why did it not have this? Due to consoles. Nuff said.

    "And why did it not have this? Due to consoles. Nuff said"

    Or maybe due to developers being lazy?
  • kangarootoo #19 2 years ago

    "Case in point ME2 which did not have keyboard short cuts for things such as journal"

    Yeah, that ruined the whole game for me....... no, not really.

    If the worst thing that can happen to a console game is that I have to press two buttons instead of one to access infrequently used game functions (I must have opened the journal 20 times in my whole playthrough), I think I'll survive.
  • Orihalcon19 #20 2 years ago

    The point I was trying to make is that while in ME2 you might not have accessed the journal a lot, I myself never did as well, is that when a game developer considers all three platforms' control schemes, they are logically going to develop the system for the one's who's market share is bigger. I am assuming that the console players buying percentage is higher than the PC players'. As such the system being developed gets "hamstrung" from the start - developers are limited towards the controllers amount of input and develop accordingly, never thinking of what could be possibly done with the amount of inputs available on the keyboard for example.
  • kangarootoo #21 2 years ago

    @Orihalcon19

    I agree with you about all the possibilities you describe, I just think the negative effects of the game being "hamstrung" are (as so often in this subject) being over stated.

    I want this game to come out for both PC and console, and the slight differences in the console (that would likely not matter to anyone if there wasn't a PC version to compare with) are unlikely (assuming the development is of quality, as ME2 was) to any anywhere near as bad any many might suggest.
