Might get this tonight (after checking out the trial).

Seems like a game to play to wind-down.

Edit: its 800 points just put the trial in my download queue.

Shouldn't Eurogamer revise their scoring system to account for the fact that we are in the early stages of the worst recession since the 1930's?

I suggest a new digital scoring system. 1 for buy. 0 for don't buy.

I also recommend that Eurogamer score all new games as a 0.

Because you know what people?

You really can't afford games anymore. You really can't.

Thanks for the cheery news.

Its still a bit early to make comparisons with 1930s at this point.

Cheap and cheerful whats not to like?

Actually..., if you have a job things are better now. It sure stinks if you don't, though.

I can afford games more than beer at the rate the breweries are screwing over our landlords with enforced prices.

I'm in paid employment, have been since I left school, never been redundant, never had money troubles, have savings, etc, etc....

I'm shitting myself, metaphorically speaking, at the financial news.

The UK is bankrupt.

Haha, I love the outcome of trying to feed a flaming hot creature to The Maw, classic!

Insta-purchase for me having played the demo, just as soon as I replace my Elite later on today, 3 months since the last time...

Also, can EG confirm that the unlockable theme is a Premium one, as has been reported on OXM.co.uk, as the art style would really suit one, in a Castle Crashers kind of way.

If all our money is totally worthless...it doesn't matter if we spend it or not. Right?

I only completed the game on a debug unit, which won't let you install themes unfortunately. I'm playing it again on a retail console so if nobody else can answer this, I'll let you know!

I'm intrigued by this. I'm sorely lacking a good platformer type game on my 360 after the Banjo demo bored me enough to cancel my pre-order for it. A cheap 800 point one could hit the spot nicely.

@rhubarbandcustard

The recession has the potential to be a storm in a teacup. Ultimately, it all comes down to consumer confidence. If people shut down spending altogether because they are cowering in fear of the recession, then economic activity grinds to a halt, and the whole thing becomes real. That is why the government (in one of the very few policies i approve of!) are trying to "buy" our way out of the recession - people need to continue spending for matters to improve, not to clam up. The tories, on the other hand, would be quite satisfied to blame the whole thing on labour and just sit it out while the country suffers.

Anyway, point is - fearmongering like that is, naturally, very small scale, clearly comes from genuine anxiety, and wont affect many people who read it. On the other hand, you're not part of the solution...

I bought it, the £4.25 for 500 points was all I needed. My worthless money bought a worthless game that means my worthless life will be a little happier. HUZZAH!

I love the UK recession - it means that all the stuff in sterling is dirt cheap, which is great given that I live in a Eurozone country. Long live the recession!
