The Force Unleashed on Wii

With exclusive duel mode

LucasArts has announced that its first next-gen title, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, will be released on the Nintendo Wii as well as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Exclusive to the Wii version of the game is a duel mode allowing players to use the Wii Remote in a lightsaber battle. The Nunchuck will also be used to control the player's Force powers.

"The Wii is a great platform for The Force Unleashed because the console's motion-oriented controllers really bring the game to life," said LucasArts president Jim Ward. "We've worked hard to make the Wii version of the game unique in order to truly let you unleash the Force."

The Wii version is being developed by Krome (Ty the Tasmanian Tiger) Studios, who are also working on the PlayStation 2 and PSP version. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are being developed internally. n-Space is working on the DS port.

The game takes place in the period between Episode III and Episode IV, as players take the role of Darth Vader's secret apprentice.
