TGS: Portable Kingdom Hearts
New games for DS, PSP, mobile.
Square Enix has announced that it's working on three new Kingdom Hearts games for DS, PSP and mobile phones.
So far the trio are only confirmed for Japan, with releases in other territories still to be determined.
The DS offering is Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, directed by moody Tetsuya Nomura and Tomohiro Hasegawa. Popular faces Roxas and Axel are said to be playable here, either in single- or multiplayer missions.
The second game is Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep for PSP, which will introduce a trio of new keyblade apprentices who are trying to find a missing keyblade master. Nomura is once again involved, co-directing with Tai Yasue.
Last but not least is the mobile title Kingdom Hearts: Coded. Here events kick off after Jiminy Cricket finds a mysterious message, prompting a whole new quest for Sora embark on. Glad to see the insect still finding work, he was particularly strong in Pinocchio.
Kingdom Hearts is a franchise that mixes the world of Walt Disney into a Japanese role-playing smoothie. The effect is enormously tasty, commanding over 10 million sales-slurps worldwide.
The most recent instalment in the series was Kingdom Hearts II on PS2, which turned out to be well worth the lengthy PAL-release wait.

The limited display, the difference in hardware between devices and the usually poor control systems all mean that a game on a mobile is a waste of time and money.
I don't understand why companies continue to make them.

Because there are a lot of mobile phones.

If you seen the secret ending trailer form KH2:FM, then you have seen that brith by sleep with be a excellent addition to the story so that one is at least not a cash in, don't know about the others.
Personaly having both a DS and PSP I will probaly get both as KH has easily become my favorite RPG series. KH2 was excellent with some of the later bosses being some of the best gaming I've had in some time. If anyone remmbers the boss with the sky scraper combo attack (not the end game one but being vauge to avoid spoilerage) you'll know what I mean.

I think they are cash-ins because its three games instead of one. Square's milking of it's popular franchises becomes a bit ridiculous.
But indeed, boss fights in KH2 were awesome. What I appreciated most about the game though was the stunning sound track.
