TGS: Konami takes on Wii Fit
Shows new Active Life title.
Konami has unveiled a new game to compete in the emerging fitness genre on Wii. It even has its own eight-sensor mat peripheral.
Dubbed Active Life: Athletic World, it aims to get your whole body moving as you attempt to recreate various activities on the screen. These range from white-water rafting to mine cart racing, with Konami promising around ten different challenges in the full game.
You will be able to get sweaty with friends, too, in one of several two-player challenges joining the package at release.
Of course it bears more than a passing resemblance to Nintendo's big E3 surprise Wii Fit - the game it will go head-to-head with when both are released next year.
More from the show as it happens.

Could be, but the title and description make it sound more like Wii Fit than Dance Revolution.
In which case Konami should have gone with the Nintendo peripheral; makes more commercial sense.

It is a dance mat, or a modified one, afterall.
EDIT:
Only IGN claims it isn't Konami, but Namco Bandai????
WTF?
O_o

It works fine for me as a long term gamer, I get to play so more classic nintendo games on the machine as well as finish off the games I never got around to finishing on the gamecube.
When I am not on the Wii (the other 22 hours of the day) the missus can play some games or have a go on the Wii fit if she fancies.
When my mum visits, she always asks to play wii sports bowling and up until now, she hated video games.
You see, it is not about whether or not you want a fitness game for the Wii, lets face it, most gamers couldn't give a toss about fitness games. But those other people around you in your family may actually want to do something other than watch you play Halo or Final Fantasy.

As for the Wii Fit board, not interested in that, but am interested in other games that make use of it, such as snow boarding or jet skiing etc.
