TF2 introduces King of the Hill News

PC News by Robert Purchese

13 August, 2009

Valve will introduce a King of the Hill mode to Team Fortress 2 soon, as part of the very first Classless Update.

A snowy Viaduct map has been built specially for the mode, where both teams will race to capture and hold point at the top of the hill for three minutes. Valve has converted Nucleus and Sawmill maps to support King of the Hill as well.

The Classless Update also brings hats, 18 of them, plus an Arena Offblast community map.

More Classless Update contents will be unveiled over the coming days on the Team Fortress 2 website.

I really want to see the "meet the medic" video. hopefully they will release a new video over the next few days. I wonder if they are still actually considering a 360 update, i heard that the most recent update screwed the game over. anyway, cant wait to play this

Awesome to the maxtreme. Although, it's porbably the only thing that would make me boot that dreadfully slow Orange Box DVD.

Wait, PC, not 360?

Surely King of the Hill is a feature that is only possible in a brand new game, especially when hats are involved!

Woo! I love hills!

regarding this game the 360 version is so inferior to pc it dosen't even compare,
you dont really need an uber pc to run this.

Why won't it make it? Is 360 still waiting on the previous updates?

Yes it is. IIRC, Valve were very close to the max memory usage in the vanilla version and they're having issues cramming the extra content into the 360 version. They have stated that they will be bringing all the updates to the 360 version after the class expansions have been finished.

Does anyone even play it on the 360? I never hear anyone talk about it.

Valve are going to patch the 360 version when all the class updates are finsihed as they dont want to charge for the updates but MS do. I wouldnt be suprised if they were also waiting for the updates to finish so they can release TF2 in Live Arcade like Portal.
