Tekken film signs Luke Goss from Bros.

Finally famous?

Blonde pop singer turned actor Luke Goss has said he will be starring in the Tekken film.

Confirmation came on his blog (some days ago, sorry), which said he would play Steve Fox in the fighting film.

Dwight Little will be directing the adaptation, and has been responsible for overseeing the action on a number of telly shows like 24 and Prison Break.

Big-screen Tekken is due to be released next year and tells the story of a rebel who rises up against the Corporation in a fighting tournament and uncovers its humanity-threatening underbelly.

Sounds a bit like gladiator in the science-fiction future mixed with a splash of Enter the Dragon.

Girl who used to sit next to me in class used to love Luke from Bros, whenever I tried to talk to her she would just look at me like I was some kinda creature from another planet. Probably because I didn't have blonde hair like Luke from Bros.

I'm not really interested in this film now...

He was in some other film I think. Ideally, I'd check IMDB so I would appear less vague but here we are.

    RUUUAAAWWWW n so on.

He was really good in Blade II to be fair to the guy.

He played Nomak if anybody can remember.
  • Donkeh #5 4 years ago

Yeah, he was in Blade II and thought he did really well imho. Though I think the fact he was in a lot of make up and you couldn't really tell it was him really helped :-)

There's a cat among the pigeons, there's a pain in her cheeeest. uuummmghwoooah..

I was going to say he was good in Blade II. Still no amount of ex-pretty boys is going to stop the Tekken movie from sucking though... I mean the Dead Or Alive one was beyond awful, right?
  • MrChuckles #8 4 years ago

Who cares who is in it, it's a film based on a fighting game:

    Street Fighter - Crap
Mortal Combat - Crap (Wasn't there another Mortal Kombat one too that was so crap i fell asleep watching it?)
    Dead or Alive - Crap

Of course, if you want a fight scene inspired by a fighting game...

City Hunter with Jackie Chan... That is awesome cinematography :-)

he was the bad guy in blade 2 which has the best comic book hero-v-villain fight ever in it :p
  • The_Inquisitor #10 4 years ago

This film is going to 'kick ass'.

The Virtua Fighter film mustn't be too far away then, : )
  • mikeck #11 4 years ago

He's also going to be in the upcoming Hellboy 2 in the summer as the 'baddie' (forget the guy's name), I'm hopeful this will top the good, but not great, original film.

I liked The Cat in Blade 2 :)
    YEEEEOOOOWWWWWWWWW!

And now he's reduced to reading my son stories on CBeebies bedtime hour :)

Also i liked Mortal Kombat 1. Because it was silly.

Dwight Little is not too shabby...this may not suck as badly as I expected.
  • Frumper #14 4 years ago

Yep, he was great in Blade 2.
  • Triggerhappytel #15 4 years ago

If its as good as Blade 2 then I might be interested.

But it won't be so that's irrelevant.
  • Pac-man-ate-my-wife #16 4 years ago

I'm sure this film will be as good Dead Or Alive and Streetfighter films.
  • HelloWorld #17 4 years ago

I reckon he'll be good in this. Was pretty awesome in Blade. He can kick ass and is good looking with nice abs and stuff.

Looking forward to this movie, but then i enjoyed MK, Streetfighter, Dead or Alive. If you're looking for a faithful "canon" film with all the characters exactly how you imagined they would be, then you're probably going to be disappointed with any Hollywood live action adaptation. I expect some of the characters will be "right", which will be cool to see. There will be some awesome fights and scenes, some probably not so much. There will be some references to the games you can feel smug at getting, and the awesomest stuff in the film might even feed back into the game.

If they try to do "juggling" in this is will be possibly the lamest, most hilarious thing ever. Perhaps that might wake the developers up, but i digress.

If we're talking beat 'em up-inspired fight scenes (which someone up there was) then that scene in Old Boy has got to be the ultimate winner. Amazing.
  • HonestJoe #19 4 years ago

They should rope in the London Boys too. And maybe Big Fun.
  • Corben_Dallas #20 4 years ago

Street Fighter JeanCluade as Ryu, Kylie Minogue as Cammy :8} and Rual Julia as M. Bison. Now thats PROPER CASTING.

remember it being an ok film but gr8 cast. Ken was played by an irritating American guy. Ken was always gay anyways.

I think something you did when you where 18 yrs old should not affect what you are doing now as a actor. Luke has been in 20 movies in the last ten years. He just finished shooting another GDT movie called Hellboy II and he looks amazing. It will out shine is performance in Blade II. I think he is perfect for the part as Steve Fox he is a great actor for one; and he has homed his skills as a fighter with all the fight scene moves he has done over the last 10 yrs. In Hellboy he learned to work a sword and a spear and if you saw the movie trailer of Hellboy II, you would have no doubt TEEKEN will be a hit with Luke in it. http://www.hellboymovie. com/
  • MrsPacMan #22 4 years ago

Jean Claude was Guile not Ken.

They should cast Brock Lesnar as Jack. I for one would love to see him smashing Luke Goss's face to pulp.
  • chronom4n #23 4 years ago

personally he did a good job in Blade II and to cast him as Steve Fox is quite a good choice of games character to portray. Hope that he can do some justice to the franchise but i doubt that this will happen seeing as there have been some flops when making a game into a movie. But, as I read the headline that he was to play a tekken character, i thought "why not cast him as steve fox?" and lo and behold the words say so.

Sounds a bit like shit in the science-fiction shit mixed with a shit of shit.

Aii ole Del Toro loves Luke Goss it would seem, as he's appearing in Hellboy 2 this summer as the evil elfin leader of some netherworld or other, to be fair he looks like a right freaky cunt in it, in a good way. I also have to agree with the majority, I think he did a really good job in Blade 2, and made Nomak quite the intimidating mofo. So him being signed up for Tekken is in no way a bad thing, certainly a more positive sign of what could happen with the film than when those three whores signed up for the DOA flick way back.
Ohh and whilst we're talking fight scenes, Tony ''Where's my Elephant'' Jaa in Warrior King had a fooking awesome fight scene, I believe it quite easily rivalled Old Boy's one tracking shot masterpiece. It's the one in the teahouse that goes uncut for like 5 minutes as he makes his way to the top floor. Great stuff. Ohh and he also fought someone who very much reminded me of Eddie Gordo in the same flick.
  • chronom4n #26 4 years ago

Tony 'Dude where's my Elephant?!" Jaa was funking awesome in that movie, i totally agree. just the way he made mincemeat of all those guys where he breaks god know how many legs in the process of getting back dumbo was just amazing. But when that big fucker comes along and really teached Jaa a thing or 2 about fighting big guys was something sweet..
  • kangarootoo #27 4 years ago

I thought he did a really good job in Blade 2. And I don't think that was because he was hidden behind makeup and so on. He just did a decent job of taking on the character and acting the part. Being in some boy band isn't necessarily the measure of someone's abilities.

re: Tony Jaa. I'm hugely critical of most martial art film stars, but Jaa is easily the closest thing we've had to a genuine martial arts star since Bruce Lee (Chan and the rest are a joke). The bloke is amazing, and that tea house scene in Warrior King really should go down in martial art flick history as a bone fide classic. Ong-Bak is better though...

If they are going to bother making these types of films at all, then these are the type of people they should be casting. You know, proper martial artists. Goss was indeed pretty good in Blade 2, but that doesn't mean he'll fit in a fighting flick in any way shape or form whatsoever. Frankly, the idea of these films isn't stupid, but the casting is always as idiotic as it could possibly be.
