I hope the 150 is for game + stick because hori sticks usually retail for a bit less than that - even the HRAP that is listed on amazon for the PS3 is only 130.

That being said - I will still get it. I am a complete stick fan.

Tekken 1 & 2 were great games, but after that it all went a bit too bonkers, Tekken3 had too many joke characters that unbalanced the game, and 4 was a complete non-step. I had high hopes for 5 but it just turned out to be a re-hashed 3 with more graphical flair. They really need to evolve the gameplay, the fighting genre has moved beyond 10 hit floater combos to memorise and rinse repeat.

Virtua Fighter and Street Fighter, are both excellent examples of series that have evolved but stayed true to their mechanics, and both of these are reason enough to leave Tekken well alone.

Played this at the arcades recently. Its the same as Tekken 5 only looks a bit better. Cant justify it if you are already sick of the series, but I guess if you want more you get more ....

the part were he says there's 40 characters so ppl wont keep choosing the same one... that will happen because there's allways a character that stands out from the rest and this will happen online.

Absolutely loved tekken 1,2 & 3, SF2 & virtua fighter 2 at the time but lost interest over the years. IMHO the recent rise of games that are getting closer to resembling actual fight sports (UFC undisputed/Fight Night) kick Tekken/SF/VF into touch completely.

To me it's started to seem a bit hollow to learn some arbitrary combos/tactics when you can play UFC/FN and apply real world strategies.

But i'm probably in the minority, so i'll shut up now... sorry

I was going to make a light hearted comment that that means they've shoe-horned co-op in, but then I read on and realised they have co-op. In a fighting game.

Not that I'm complaining, there's not been any Streets of Rage style games for years, never one that's really worked in 3D. I'd actually consider buying this, despite my usual dislike for fighting games, since I love scrolling beat-em ups. The co-op mode should be great fun too.

Nearly all the ones released this generation have been 60 fps... Dead Or Alive 4, Soulcalibur IV (also from Namco), Virtua Fighter 5, Street Fighter IV... all run at 60 fps. I wasn't aware any beat 'em ups these days ran at 30 fps unless it's one of the creaky old 2D fighters that appear on PSN/Xbox LIVE? So Tekken 6 having a 60 fps framerate is hardly revolutionary really. :?

Still I've always loved the Tekken series, even Tekken 4, so I hope that this new game makes up for the crushing disappointment that was Street Fighter IV.

But, if I am not mistaken, SFIV online plays at 30 FPS, no? Perhaps he's hinting that T6 will maintain 60 FPS online which kinda is a big deal.

Yeah, right. There are always characters that are favourite to 80% of people out there. Just play a random match of SFIV online and see that ut of ten matches at least five will be against Ryu.

You mean out of ten matches, 9 will be against Ken surely?

i've played this game a bunch and kind of hate it.

the character design is offensively horrible, and the 'fluid' visuals look like wallace and gromit at 60fps running over the course of about ten seconds.

I really hope they improve the single player aspect of this game, I really enjoyed the last Soul Calibur, but mostly because of the tower of lost Souls (which I completed, but still did not understand) I am definately looking forward to the platform element, it is not about the size of your combos.

Get it on the PS3 and play on my own as none of my mates have one but at least I have a decent controller that doesn't feel like you're fighting on a hot cross bun.

Get it on the 360 and fight all my mates but with a controller that handles lie a hot cross bun...

A decent fighting gamepad for the 360 would be nice.

The hardest Tekken to love was the PSP version. :(

No Tekken 4 was by far the worst. 5 on the PSP was nothing compared to that. Hell, even the GBA version of 3 was better than 4.

Also bring back Tag, Bowling, and Tekken Ball. No one cares about Force Mode. Thanks.

Eh? Whats not to like about SFIV? It pissed all over every other fighting game i had played in years, (apart from maybe DOA2) and Tekken and VF games have been borefests for me since about their 3rd installments.

@geeza2020 - Sorry but I just couldn't get on with SF IV at all (I bought it for the PS3), it's too retro for my tastes.

I much prefer 3D beat 'em ups that allow me more tactical opportunites while fighting an opponent, i.e. actually being able to side step. The only 2D fighting game I've ever liked was Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the Dreamcast but that was more for the sheer number of Marvel characters and unlockables. 2D fighters feel far too restrictive for me these days.

Note that I never played the earlier SF games either, for some reason or other they escaped me, thus SF IV instantly felt dated compared with other fighters I've played. It's one for the fans I feel and I've never been one... so...

I have tekken 3 (the abysmal 4) and 5, why would I buy this?

Well, I was in Japan not to long ago and played Tekken 6. If you like the Tekken series you will like 6. It has enough changes that I feel is worth the investment. The only Tekken series I hated was 4. Tekken Tag is still my favorite and I wish they would bring it back.

The 150 Hori is the game and the stick If I remember. Wireless is a huge plus and I just might purchase one for the PS3 and the 360. Playing with the gamepad on either system is ok but if you are serious about playing fighting games then it probably would be ideal if you picked up an arcade stick.

Personally I like all types of fighting games. From the 2D splendor that is SFIV. To the technical, like VF. To the combotastic in Tekken and they your realistic (sort of) in Fight Night and UFC. Neither of those games are crap, it just depends on what you like and the time you are willing to take to invest in their mechanics. So when I read people saying that this series or that was disappointing or crap, just temper those opinions as just your opinion. Most times, it's not the game thats crap but the person who cannot come to grips with those games mechanics and thus they are crap at playing those games ;)

the mighty tekken 6 which sonyfanboys said the 360 could not manage graphically but early reports say the 360 version is slightly superior even though the game is based on a ps3 arcade board.who bets this game sells equal or better on xbox even though its traditional a ps game.agree that the 360 d pad is a waste of time though but will not buy a stick when ive allready paid £40 for a game if the devs cant make it work on normal bundled pads then this should be reflected in the review scores(or not be released till works on the analogue sticks) unlike what happened with SFiv, which ive hardly touched since buying.

The "superior" part of the 360 version will undoubtedly be the addition of AA as this is one area where the PS3 is traditionally weak. For example, SF IV lacks AA completely on the PS3, like the arcade version in fact, but the 360 has 2X AA giving it the edge graphically. The forthcoming PC version also supports upto 16Q AA.

What is he talking about? Every Tekken game up until now ran with 60fps. Every game of every major fighting game series also ran with 60 except Soul Edge.

I must admit I tend to enjoy Namco fighters more than any others. They are fun to play without having to actually, you know, be good at them or anything:)

Ahhh, Tekken. The only non-realistic fighting series I really like. Tried Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter, Dead or Alive, Mortal Kombat vs DC (which is crap!) and Soul Calibur, but none of them really capture me. Can't wait for this, even if it ends up being more of the same.
