L.A. Noire developer now hiring
Are they ramping up for an autumn release?
Rockstar and Team Bondi are hiring for what may be the final L.A. Noire development push.
Positions ranging from modellers and artists to designers and programmers are all waiting to be filled, according to the developer's website.
This increased activity supports the autumn 2009 release prediction made by Game Developer's Association of Australia boss Tom Crago last September.
L.A. Noire, however, has not been shown to anyone, nor have we seen anything more than a rendered teaser trailer
or read anything other than a brief synopsis.
"L.A. Noire is an interactive detective story set in the classic noire period of the late 1940s," reads that synopsis on the game's website.
"L.A. Noire blends action, detection and complex storytelling and draws players into an open-ended challenge to solve a series of gruesome murders. Set in a perfectly recreated Los Angeles before freeways, with a post-war backdrop of corruption, drugs and jazz, L.A. Noire will truly blend cinema and gaming."
Such secrecy dampens our hopes of a 2009 release, but we should at least hear more on L.A. Noire this year - perhaps at E3 in June. Rockstar had nothing further to add.

bit late to be ramping up now for an Autumn release, guys.

Large numbers of staff getting thrown at a project so late might indicate problems. Either that or the core game is in place but they need staff to generate content like missions to fill it out.

Glad to see it is back on the radar.
