TDU2 taking names for beta
Eden primed.
Atari/Namco Bandai has started taking names for the Test Drive Unlimited 2 online beta.
Head over to the official website to put your name down. You'll need to register.
There's no signposting, but we assume this roll call is for PC gamers. We'd expect console participation to be handled through PSN or Xbox Live Marketplace.
Test Drive Unlimited 2 brings free-roaming island racing in sporty cars - and with girls wearing sporty bras - back with bows on. Eurogamer's recent TDU2 preview greases the axle.

The idea of a beta is so the developers can have a large controlled sample size to see how a game runs and if there are any issues, especially online.
They'll get a better idea of how it's running even if it's a sample of 1000 players - I don't think many deveolpers could do closed doors testing of more than a couple of hundred poeple - it just wouldn't be practical or cost effective.
It's a good way to show customers what it's like - but not neccessarily as well built as a demo.
It' win-win.
