Just finished Secret of Monkey Island yesterday. Got to get through them all first. I wanna catch every single reference. Despite the goatee, Tales looks great!

The full game has been really great so far; it looks, feels and sounds like a Monkey Island game. Voice-acting is excellent, it's funny and the puzzles have all been enjoyable to solve and logical. What else do you need?

The full game and the demo are the same thing (you just have to buy it to unlock the whole thing) so both have been available since Tuesday.

cheaper than Steam if you live in Europe... because Steam still converts 1$ to 1€

Don't buy it off Steam if you want the free DVD and whatever other goodies there are. They're only from TellTale!

Why would you go to Big Download or whatever that is? Just download the demo from Telltale.

Telltale have captured Monkey Island perfectly, it's a really awesome game and a great start to the series. Don't bother with the demo, just go buy the full thing!

Only complaint is the mouse movement control, fucking horrible! Thank god for WASD

Bought it and unlike Sam & Max, Strong Bad or even Wallace and Gromit (same tech specs) this seems a bridge too far for my 3 year old Laptop! Not complaining though, LE DVD will be on its way in a few months, by which time I'll have a new laptop!

Shame it didn't come out on XBLA at the same time...

Does anyone know if there's a Mac version in the works?

Still not a fan of the sparse low-budget look, but the writing, puzzles and the whole feel are spot on. I never really liked Telltale's efforts very much so far, but this is excellent and captures the spirit of MI almost perfectly.

@UncleLou - A "Sparse, low budget" look?!? How?

Tales is the best that Monkey Island has ever looked IMO until the redux of Secret of Monkey Island is released next week. It looks uber-sharp, runs smooth and the cartoonish art design and stylised characters are terrific. Personally short of going for a more photo-realistic look, which if you ask me would not suit the game at all, I don't see how it could possibly look better. In comparison the earlier games now look a bit low-budget, definitely low-res!!! ;)

Don't know about a mac specific version, but on the forums people were saying they've got it working through VMWare and Wine, which is apparently new for Telltale games.

I hear monkey island and i mile automatically. Was the funniest and best ( or in the best section for me along The Dig etc ) adventured for like ever.. Amazing and they better not have it screwed up with this one! its a certain buy for me now that ill be trying the demo unless they ruined it. if they did it would be a huge shame, really.. :/

@UncleLou - A "Sparse, low budget" look?!? How?

Low-poly characters, empty environments, blob shadows - it looks like a game from 2000 in higher resolution.

and the cartoonish art design and stylised characters are terrific

They have the right ideas, but the execution is blatantly hampered by budget constraints. I am absolutely not asking for an in any way, shape or form realistic style for Monkey Island, I'd just wish they'd use a technically more advanced engine, or go 2D for the backgrounds.

Tales is the best that Monkey Island has ever looked IMO

It's - at least in relative terms - by far the worst it ever looked, in my opinion. And I much prefer the style of the first two (of course they're technically dated today) - just look at the terrific use of colour here.

Nevermind the artstyle, but look at this, or this, or this to see a few examples of recent adventure games in comparison.

But I've said it before, it's not really a complaint, I understand why're they're doing it. - and it's more important that the wit, puzzles, humour and dialogues are as good as ever.
