Super SFIV unveils Hakan
He's big, red and oily.
Capcom has revealed the last new character coming to Super Street Fighter IV - Hakan.
He's big and red and he oils himself up before and during rounds so that he can slip and slide around with ease, ensuring he gets close enough to use his arsenal of grappling moves.
Those manoeuvres include bear-hugging an opponent until they catapult out of his oily embrace, up into the air and either onto the ground or back into his arms, where he slides them around his waste, rolls with them on the floor and then throws them against a wall. [Extraordinary. - Ed]
Another move has Hakan provide a cushion for a falling foe, before turning them over, spinning around on their backs, squat-crushing them and firing them out backwards between his legs.
Super Street Fighter IV will be released on 30th April for PS3 and Xbox 360.

I've been checking the vids on EventHubs, and he looks like the Dan-version of Zangief/Alex/El-Fuerte/Hugo combined. Simply brilliant. A very SF3 style player.
It's funny to see so many people on the net complaining about how comical he is. In a game with a green Jungle beast-boy and a bear-wrestling russian, and a curry-eating-fire-breathing-rubbery-limbed Indian.
His playstyle looks refreshing.

I wonder. Balrogs boxing gloves has always annoyed me though. Boxing gloves is used to protect your opponent.

I for one can't wait to beat the crap out of him.... and here's a game when I can say exactly that without feeling any guilt whatsoever!!! Bring on the Street Fighter!!!!!
@muscleblade of course you're assuming that Balrog hasn't hidden knuckle dusters in his gloves?

Unless.. oh.. oh please say that is not the case.

Actually boxing gloves protect your knuckles and very little else. Bare knuckle boxers used to punch each other in the face far less often because it hurt. The ammount of deaths / serious injuries since the introduction of boxing gloves has increased by quite a lot.
Also character looks cool

Previous street fighters were obviously limited by the hardware so the supers were more function than form and recycled existing animations. With SFIV some of the ultras started bordering on pointless showiness and now with SSFIV they've gone way over the top with drawn out sequences that don't fit with characters repertoires or just ridiculous spectacles that barely make sense and fail to tickle my funny bone as much the developers seem to intend.
