Street Fighter IV PC using GfW Live

And includes optional artistic shaders.

Capcom has said that the PC version of Street Fighter IV will use Games for Windows Live as the basis of its multiplayer system.

That also means that you will be able to use voice chat and unlock Achievements when the game comes out this summer.

Along with all that, PC SFIV obviously allows for higher resolutions than the mostly 720p-loving console twins.

However, Capcom has also included optional shaders based on the original artistic trailers - so there are watercolour, poster and sumi-e variations or the look established by the console versions.

You can get a sense of that in our Street Fighter IV PC screenshot gallery.

However, Capcom has also included optional shaders based on the original artistic trailers ...

I was excited for about 7 seconds. Then I saw the screenshots and noticed that it's nothing like the artistic watercolour trailers. It's not even near.

Oh, well, still a good game I'll play, provided GfWL doesn't ruin it.

GFWL is free and its fine to be honest

Microsoft gave free access to their servers for developers after the Gold, Silver system that grips the Xbox Community did not work for PC. All PC games have free on servers I don't know what they are thinking that people would pay for a Gold account on PC

But this will be the definite version of SF4 no doubt arcade perfect in comparison to the console cousins

I love the fact you can choose the art direction that the developers originally intended but could not put out on the consoles

    God DAMN it!!

Why do PC owners get the watercoloured graphics...!? When I saw the original trailer, I wanted nothing more than SF with those lush visuals.

    Oh well... :o/

Edit - However, like ChthonicEcho, having now seen the screenshots of the filters, I'm not so bothered now...

...complete with truckloads of hacks, scripts, macros and exploits. 12-hit combo with ultra finish? one button press hello!
  • crwoody #9 3 years ago

    And lots of nice mods!!

Macros are fine, as if the first hit does not connect, they are left wide open.

If only we could play the 360 Livers.

What happened to the cross platform dream?

It should be totally workable with SFIV since I can't imagine anyone playing SF without a pad.... (I'd try with the keyboard myself cause I loves PC)
  • AbyssUK #13 3 years ago

ah yes but the important question does it support 640i so I can play it on my arcade cabinet ?
  • Lin #14 3 years ago

coolies. was worried they were gonna back track on PC altogether.

yet another reason not to buy a connedsole. as if being able to get a PC with ps3 specs for about the same price wasn't enough.
  • Shakey_Jake33 #15 3 years ago

@AbyssUK - Well, the arcade version runs at 1280x720p, so that would hardly give the true arcade experience =P
